It’s a place which is very steep with bad service and unhelpful employees Went there during a weekday Though had space they were short staffed so took them a while to get us seatedWe were a table of10 ppl We ordered pizza and beer combo and veal and pasta n stuffThe pizza and beer were ok but the rest of the food was average It took 2 hrs and repeated reminders to get our last order 2 hours and two orders came wrong Eventually they made the order that came 2 hrs late complimentary as it got delayed cause they brought the wrong orderIt was a rip off As too expensive n no value for money Nothing except the pizza tasted even average Food was way below average Not going there again
Most horrible place in town , we visited a part of 11 , restaurant was empty but they still took 15 min to figure out where we should sit .Only one server in a 60 cover restaurant .No one came to take order , we had to loud for someone to come , took our order , came back frustrated as she was alone in the restaurant , dropped the beer pitcher in the table .Finally after cleaning we started with beer and ordered pizzas , pasta and steaks .Out if party of 11 , ) people got the food and 5 waited for another 15 minutes , laters food came for 4 people and 1 waited for an hour for food . No point of apology after your dinner is messed up . Called the owners but they were not interested in taking the call , even left a voice mail by they didn’t response ded. May be they are not interested in running this business which required acute care to customers and food quality.Our celebration dinner was ruined and still we were charged 20% gratuity over the bill .Disappointed and it recommended.
Went here last week with my Sheridan Theater Group. The show was switched to Milton because they had a fire at the school.This restaurant is in a strip mall. It looks like an entrance to a mall instead of a restaurant.Atmosphere- Minimalist decor. A couple of high tables in the front with booths and some tables in back room. The room does not have a warm welcoming feel. The room is just a step up from looking like a fast food place really.Food- We happened to be there on 1/2 price appetizer night when you order a main course or pizza.. Three of us jumped on that band wagon. My forth friend wanted an appetizer and was ordering a salad ( a salad by the way that cost more than a pizza) She was told that her salad did not qualify for the special. She pointed out that the salad price but that made no difference. Our appetizers included: calamari- perfectly cooked with a crispy light breading. The sauce was mild and nice with it. 2) mussels in a white wine sauce- A good amount of them. Almost the size of a meal size. the sauce was very flavourful and dipping the garlic bread into it was like a bite of heaven. Yum 3) Prosciutto wrapped bocconcini on grilled eggplant and red peppers with balsamic vinegar drizzle. I really like the combination of all these flavours. They just combine in your mouth for a spectacular taste. Mmmm. Mains included: 1) The whores spaghetti ( Punttanesca) Which contains capers , anchovies, olives and a lot of other things. My friend got so excited to see it on the menu and she said it was delicious with a capital D. For those who do not like anchovies- It just adds to the salt taste and no fish remnants are noted in dish. 2) Mediterranean Pizza- this had some l of my favourite toppings ( artichoke hearts, feta, roasted red peppers, olives, and mozzarella cheese) so I thought I would rave about it. However, that wasn’t the case. It was just Meh! I cant quite put my finger on the reason but I tend to think it may be that this place doesn’t use quality products. With the above combination this pizza should have screamed flavour at me. Everything was bland in taste including the base sauce. I would not order it again. 3) Spinach Salad- This had a portabello mushroom stuffed with goat cheese that my friend said was fantastic but that is the only thing good about the salad. there wasn’t much of anything else in the salad except plain spinach and the dressing was just ok. 4) penne with gorgonzola- Very good with a nice mix of flavours. Mushrooms, chicken, and red peppers tossed in a creamy sauce. They really do a nice garlic toast for pasta dishes.Service- Our waitress was very personable but I believe there should have been an inquiry to management about allowing my friend to have the appetizer considering her salad price. this was not just a side salad . That with the combination of all the food the rest of the table was ordering it should have been at least considered. Our meals were accurate and quick to come to the table.Impression- I will think of going back on an appetizer night again because they are the stars of the menu. I am also intrigued about what this whores spaghetti tastes like. I was a little wary of the anchovy included but with my friend’s positive reaction I look forward to a full dish of it. . I also think the rigid rule about the 1/2 price appetizer should have not been discounted without even a second thought. If the waitress had even just said i will ask my manager for an exception to the rule and then come back to say it was not possible that would have been more palatable.

Nice cozy Italian restaurant. Good service, good food, good value, nice cozy ambiance – will definitely go again. My family (all adults) enjoyed the food.
We won’t be back!!!. We were going to this place on a fairly regular basis until today when the service we received was appallingly bad. They open their doors for business at 1130am and we arrived at noon. There was no waitress/hostess in sight but a cook was working in the kitchen. We stood for about two minutes before the manager came out from the back and told us to sit anywhere. We did and after about ten minutes no one had come to take our drink orders. We got up to leave, and saw the sole waitress out on the patio cleaning up garbage and smoking. The manager was on the phone (no doubt a personal call) and then tried to get us to stay. Too little far too late. He knew we were there and he knew the waitress was still outside. Instead of either calling her to come serve us, or at least getting our drink order started himself, he made a phone call and expected us to just sit and march to their tune. Bad form Portobello’s. You know we WERE regulars and we are done. And we ALL know you are never busy or full, so good luck in the future if this is how you treat your customers. P.S. I guess we will never know if the waitress would have gone to wash her hands after cleaning garbage/smoking a cigarette, before starting to serve food.
Pretty Good Food.. We came here on a Saturday afternoon at around 3:00 pm for a late lunch. When we walked in, there was only one table which had guests seated. We had originally wanted to sit outside, which had about two tables seated with guests however, we decided against it once seated as it looked as though it were about to rain. We then retreated inside and chose a table near the door to the patio. We were approached by a kind younger woman who asked us what we would like to drink. We both settled on waters as we browsed the menu for our items. We decided on the Caesar Salad for an appetizer, which would be split between the two of us. For our main dishes, we both settled on pizza, me the Margherita and my husband the Meat Lover. After about seven minutes, our Caesar Salad arrived. We thought for about $10.00, it was a bit too small as we had expected it to be a tad bigger. However, the taste was excellent, with just the perfect amount of dressing and croutons. Possibly adding in some more bacon bits may be an added feature which would spice up the dish. Once we had finished our salad, our pizzas arrived. The pizzas were each 10 inches, and both were of a perfect size to be personal pizzas. We were astonished that each of these pizzas were only about $10.00, it was excellent value for the size that we received! Each of the pizzas were cooked to perfection however, there was a tad too much oil on the Margharita pizza, with some of it actually being drenched in oil. The taste was wonderful, thin-crust and delicious however, if the oil were a little less, it would have been better.After we had finished our meals, our server came over and we asked for our bill. For about $34.00, we received a salad, and two pizzas, some of which we were able to take home as it was too big to finish. We found the price for our meal to be pretty reasonable, and would be eager to try some of the other food items that were listed on the menu (e.g. sandwiches or pasta dishes). The service at this place was great, and the owner seemed friendly as he said hello and goodbye to us with a smile. The dcor is modern, with an Italian flair of course. The patio is quite amazing, looking out to the road, filled with a ton of seats for large parties. I would be interested in coming back for sure to see what else I can try!
