After reading a glowing review on this site I just knew I had to take my 2 daughters here..Atmosphere- It is a little off the beaten track. If you are driving down Tremaine you may notice the Italian Club of Milton This is where turn into the tea room ( It is situated in a house directly beside the club. )It just appears like an average house but when you walk in the quaint room filled with dainty tea cups and tea pots making you want to stay a while. There was a fireplace glowing right beside the table we were seated at.Food- The tea choices were endless and you could have honey, sweetener or 2 kinds of sugar with it. All of us liked our choices- Earl Grey, Ginger, and Vanilla Earl Grey. We started with some cut veggies and dip. Fresh and tasty. Next came the sandwiches- steamed salmon ( not the canned stuff- steamed and flavoured by our host Edwina) This was the best salmon sandwich I have been served at a tea. In fact all the sandwiches were scrumptious. I especially liked the curry one with seafood. I loved all of them. There were also quiches that were very good. this was the high point of the tea for sure. The next course- scones with home made preserves were fantastic strawberry with ginger- yum) The scones were quite good and the cream was authentic. I just wish they had come warm. The desserts were just ok. Nothing was specacular- the chocolate plain biscuits and the tiny dots with icing were cute but not tasty. There were some coco late cheesecake squares dipped in chocolate that were just ok. The shortbread cookies were good but they needed something else to go with them. Service- Edwina is the hostess of this tea room. She made us feel welcome the moment we entered. she is lovely, engaging, and she is so down to earth you fell you are visiting an aunt for tea in her home She makes this place a standout . She even gave us a hug when we left and gave us tissues as a gong away present. Just a wonderful experience.Impression- I loved the tea, the atmosphere, and the sandwiches. I know I will be back more than just a few times because of the hostess.

FOOD:We had come here for Afternoon Tea on a Friday afternoon at around 2:00 pm. We were first asked by Edwina to choose our teas before sitting down; we were impressed with how many teas Edwina had to offer (which was more than most establishments). All of the teas were situated on a tea cart near the front of the caf; I chose the Cosmopolitan Tea (fruit-flavoured), while my friend chose the Icewine Tea, which tasted very similar to the wine itself. I preferred to choose a caffeine-free tea however, Edwina told me that if I were to choose a tea with caffeine, that she would be able to decaffeinate it for me (I didnt even know that was possible). Luckily, the tea that I had chosen was already caffeine-free however, I was glad to know that the option was there for the future.Once our tea was served to us in beautifully-decorated tea pots, we were given a dish of vegetables and dip to start. The vegetables included sliced peppers, cucumbers, shelled peas, and carrots. The vegetables were very fresh, tasting as though Edwina had grown them herself! The dip was also lovely, and it was a large portion, very generous helping! Once we had almost finished the vegetable dish, we were given our tea sandwiches on a lovely two-tiered plate, which included a variety of sandwiches such as egg salad, cucumber and cream cheese (my favourite), salmon, and ham and mustard, along with two small bite-sized quiches. Each of the sandwiches were absolutely DELICIOUS, all of them made homemade by Edwina herself, with only the best and freshest ingredients. We also loved how the bread was soft, definitely a plus when eating tea sandwiches!Once we were almost finished our tea sandwiches, Edwina brought over our dessert platter, which consisted of five scones (with clotted cream and jam on the side), mini clairs (absolutely to DIE for), gingerbread people (as Edwina lovingly referred to them as), shortbread hearts, coconut chocolate cookies, and some fruit. The scones were quite fresh, baked to perfection, and just the perfect size (not too big, and not too small either). I thought all of the cookies that Edwina placed on our dish were very delicious, each one boasting a different flavour which satisfied our taste buds. Definitely a great dessert platter to end off a wonderful experience!ATMOSPHERE:This tea room is situated in the Italian-Canadian Club Room in Milton. Upon walking-into the tea room, there are many beautiful artifacts, pictures, stuffed bears (very cute touch!), and other tea memorabilia lining the walls and counter tops. Each table was beautifully decorated with a white linen tablecloth and napkins, along with exquisitely delicate bone china tea cups and saucers. We were able to sit at a table near the fireplace, and were thoroughly impressed with how beautifully the fireplace was decorated! Edwina decorated this tea room to boast her exquisite taste, while also providing a feeling of coziness no matter where one sat!SERVICE:When I had placed my reservation with Edwina, I was pleasantly surprised at how organized and courteous she was. She had contacted me the day before just to confirm our reservation, while asking if we had any food allergies or restrictions. Once we had arrived at the tea room, we were kindly greeted by Edwina with a hug, which made us feel welcome. She then asked us to sit at the table near the fireplace in order to keep warm (it was a cold day outside). Throughout our tea service, Edwina came by to tell us more about the tea room, along with filling up our tea pots periodically (I had three pots filled with tea as it was that good!) Edwina was one of the most gracious hosts that I have ever met when having afternoon tea; she made us feel comfortable throughout our entire stay. Thank you Edwina for such a beautiful afternoon, definitely one to remember!COST:Afternoon Tea: $19.00 + Tax/Person = $21.47 / Afternoon Tea For 2 = $42.94 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?Without a doubt! This tea room was beautiful in every sense, one of the best that I have ever been to, and for such a GREAT price as well! We truly felt at home, and would HIGHLY recommend that you will give this tea room a try. I assure you, you wont be disappointed with Edwina at the helm!
