Ambiance:We got there as soon as it opened so we didn’t wait long to be seated (in the cooking section). There were 4 stations with limited seats. It was very clean! They took our order fairly quickly. We did wait a little for the chef to arrive. I wasn’t sure if they wanted more people to fill the table or were preparing the food. The chef himself was very engaging, and funny. He had an accent and limited English but was able to keep it entertaining for everyone. The tricks like flaming, throwing food into people’s mouth. He cooked the food fairly fast and was able to fulfill our requests. FOOD:The food was good, the tempura was tasty, chicken/beef tiryaki are both good. Ranging from $19-21. A bit pricey but it includes large portions of salad, rice, meat. He cooked it fairly quick, station was cleaned right away. They did forget to bring out some item I ordered. there were several severs walking around so it was hard to find the one who took our order in the first place. Overall, it was definetly worth checking out.

Horrible service waited 20 minutes at counter for someone to say hello after placing order 30 minutes before. Nobody was being greeted at hostess station staff was not friendly.

FOOD:We had come here for dinner at 6:00 pm on a Saturday evening. I had made reservations before coming therefore, we were able to get a seat at the cooking table as requested. Once we had sat down, we were given a few menus; the first being the appetizer menu, while the second was the one for our cooking demonstration meals. For the appetizers, I had chosen the Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura, along with the Avocado & Cucumber Sushi. For our cooking demonstration meal, I had chosen the Chicken, with Fried Rice and Vegetables. The Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura was fresh, along with it being piping hot when I had received it. I also enjoyed the Avocado & Cucumber Sushi as all of the pieces were well put-together and fresh as well.We enjoyed the cooking demonstration by the chef, whom decided to complete a few tricks such as the egg tossing, the food into the mouth, and the onion volcano fire. We did find the chef to be funny, and also engaging as he had asked us if we had wanted to complete some of the tasks. The food itself was quite good, with the rice and eggs mixed well-together, along with the chicken, which was well-prepared and moist. I loved that we were able to order ice cream for our dessert, although I had hoped that chocolate was available (I had to settle for vanilla with chocolate sauce). Overall, the food was good, and tasted as though love was actually put into making it, a definite plus when dining out!ATMOSPHERE:The cooking table was nice, with each side complete with their own chef and utensils. We did find that the area for eating was a bit too cramped, especially when our appetizers had arrived beforehand. It was difficult to find space for all of the plates to fit in front of us, making us eat our items quickly in order to avoid a plate pile-up. It was a bit loud once the cooking got started however, we did enjoy that it wasnt as smoky as we would have anticipated, since we were sitting right in front of the cooking area. Definitely a nice presentation though, very well-thought out! SERVICE:I had made reservations a week prior for a party of four. When we had walked-in and I had told them about our reservation, they seemed confused, and were unable to bring us to our table for at least a few minutes. They were apologetic, and took us back to our table as soon as it was ready. The lady whom took our orders only came around sporadically, and it was difficult to get our water glasses refilled without having to get-up and find a server in the near distance. The chef didnt ask us too many questions about our orders as he was concentrating on making the dishes. It did take him long though to get the steamed rice to my husband, who had to wait after all of the food was cooked to receive his rice. COST:1 Shrimp & Vegetable Tempura Order + 1 Avocado & Cucumber Sushi Order + 2 Chicken Cooking Orders (1 With Fried Rice, 1 With Steamed Rice) = $58.65 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?In general, Im not a big fan of this type of restaurant however, if I had to attend another outing where this type of cooking method was involved, I would choose this restaurant.

I went here once with a big group and once with just 1 other person. Both times the service was good. The food is good and consistent. You’ll be full after eating here.

Iron chef is a decent Chinese food place. Not the best I have been too. It does have a wide selection of both Chinese and Thai dishes. They have cooking tables and sit down tables Like I said. Not bad. Not great.

A bit pricy for food that isn’t anything special. This may be one of the better Japanese places to go to around my work, but that really isn’t saying much. Got the Chicken Katsu entree and it was as you would expect. If you want cheap and good Japanese food, go to the Korean owned Japanese takeout restaurant at Dixie Park Mall.

Great Japanese Restaurant – Great Food Quality! First off – the number of Japanese restaurants in this area of Mississauga are definitely few and far-between. Although, I would hands-down recommend Iron Chef if you are looking for a great, fast, and convenient lunch option. I don’t know about dinner – but lunch is definitely fantastic. Is it the best – no – but its good for what it is – and the quality is there!
