I’m so glad I came across this bakery. Great assortment of Italian baked goods, cakes, and desserts. I’ve picked up a couple of cakes from here (nutella, and strawberry/vanilla) and they were truly extraordinary. Everyone was asking where I got them.. definitely worth checking out especially if you need to pick up a fresh cake.
We have been very happy with all the cakes we have ordered from La Sem over the years. However, the consistency has been a hugh issue for me with the last two orders. When you are paying $85-$95 on average for a birthday or speciality cake, you expect that you will get a superior cake. Our most recent cake was decorated beautifully. The disappointment was with the lack of cake and filling (fresh strawberries) and way too much icing cream. All my friend and family pointed this out to me. We contacted Le Sem and someone stated they would review the order and call us back. No surprise, no one called back. We didn’t want anything back for the cake we just want to let them know that there product is below par. If I want a cream cream I could have saved my money and picked it up for $10.00 at a local grocery store. I will be shopping around.
Horrible Service/ Disrecpectful staff. Does not respect Muslim culture, we have been ordering cake from this bakery for almost 25 years… specially ordered cake with NO Alcohol and No Nuts and hats how we always get it, we took the cake for a special occasion after the cake cutting ceremony fed the cake as tasting to everyone. Our family was shocked that we just had alcohol which is against our religion. Next day we called the bakery spoke with the manager they offered to make another cake, we requested to pick up next day, but they didn’t trust us asked to bring a slice of the cake, we took the entire cake, the manger was not there so their staff takes a finger sticks it in to the cake tastes it and says there’s no rum and gives us back the cake with disrespect… Who would taste a cake with their finger in front of the customer and then tells them to take the cake back its okay there’s no alcohol, how could you tell without taking a proper bite? Bottom line there was Alcohol in the cake staff puts the finger in the cake licks it and then says there’s no alcohol take the cake back. This was the most horrible experience w have ever had and would never ever recommended anyone to order cake from this bakery.
Italian desserts. This place has an incredible collection of Italian pastries, cakes and desserts. The cannoli is wonderful and so are the cream puffs. Great staff, clean facility, parking in front. I don’t get here often because of the location. If I lived near by I would certainly become a regular.
