Actually I’ve been trying butter tarts throughout the Muskoka region so when this place advertised a maple bacon butter tart I had to give it a try. Quite honestly, it was a big disappointment, especially for the price. 2 coffees, tart and muffin over $15.
Abby’s is so darned good, and I mean everything. The butter tarts are addictive. The chocolate chip/brownie cookies a dream come true. And don’t get me started on the blue berry muffins. Absolutely delicious all round! Check out the Minnett location.
Butter tarts come in many different flavours at Abbeys. While they are good, they aren’t great. Each time we were there and bought the tarts, they were a bit stale and not super gooey, which is how we like our butter tarts.
Grab a sandwich and a butter tart and eat sitting in one of the Muskoka chairs at the entrance. Nice to rest a moment while on the go. The quality of the food is superb.
Often there to grab Starbucks and treat. Indeed it is too expensive and closed unexpectedly but still a great way to coffee with friends while in the area. And everyone should eat at least one buttertart with bacon in it at some point
This is a great bakery. Brownie inside a cookie is the best! They also have great sandwiches and breakfast
