Pissed off. Don’t say you are open on Sunday when you are not. I am from Toronto and happen to be in Ottawa on a trip and was lookin for African jollof rice and was really disappointed when I drove from my hotel and got here and it says you are closed
Just like in Ghana. I have had most things on the menu and they all taste pretty much like the food in Ghana. The food is amazing and I totally recommend it! The portions are huge and the service is good. My only complaint is that the fufu and riceballs are always served with goat meat. Chicken would be better.
Great Eats. Stopped in on a whim for take out and was impressed by the quality of the food. I had the fried plantains and bean stew and it was simply delicious! I was also provided with excellent service and I really enjoyed the family operated atmosphere. Will certainly be returning soon.
Had high hopes for trying something new, but was rather disappointed. We ordered the Goat curry & the fried chicken with Beans and rice… the Beans and rice by themselves have a weird either cinnamon or nutmeg flavor that made them way to sweet. The fried chicken was pitiful it was dry over done and tasted like grease 🙁 Very disappointed the Goat curry was ok, at least it had some good flavor… but when we both discovered little fragments of bone that we bit into We stopped eating it 🙁 The plantains are the best thing that we had… and even still I don’t want sweets for dinner 🙁
Wonderful comfort food and heart warming service. I <3 Ghana House!. If you are looking for a grab and go diner- I recommend calling ahead, as everything is prepared freshly. Love is no doubt one of the main ingredients included in all of the delicious dishes that the Ghana House offers! The service is wonderful! Even just stopping by to pick up our meal is a fun and heart-warming experience. A must try!!
Great food & excellent service. Glad I went in, excellent food and the staff was very friendly. Best Jerk Chicken I have had in a long time, definitely going back!
You have to eat here to understand what you’re missing! The food is delicious, so flavourful and fresh, and everything is authentic tasting and homemade (trust me, my boyfriend and I ordered 5 menu items our first time because we couldn’t decide on what exotic dish to try first)!! Not to mention the service is fantastic. The chef, Rose, is charming and caring and came out to check on us often and made sure to cater to my dietary needs (I eat Paleo). She even brought out soap and a bowl of water so I could wash my hands before my meal! Also, they serve huge portions for the price, we almost had to roll out of the place we were so stuffed, plus we had leftovers to take out. We had a fantastic time in this cute little restuarant and will definitely be back! 18carrotgold.com
