They have the best samosas. Fresh, delicious samosas at a very reasonable price. Comes with tamarind sauce. For vegetarian food, Karara is the best I’ve found in Barrhaven.
Disappointed!. We were really disappointed on Friday night when we used their online ordering system to have our meal delivered for 630 pm. It was 645pm and no one has arrived at our home so I gave the restaurant a call to chekc up. They said the meal has left their resto and is on the way. We live 5-10 minutes away from their barrhaven location. It was 715 pm so I called again and this time the lady said he’s on his way and they were really busy. I told her she could have jsut said that from the beginning instead of lying. They should call their customers if they are going to be late. The door bell rights 10mins.later where the driver was informed of his tardiness and he said he picked up the food 15mins ago. So who to believe? On top of the late delivery, our food did not taste as good as usual. Especially their baigan bharta which tasted like eating chunks of Ginger. Very disappointed at this resto and their poor service.
Delicious!. Had the chicken methi and lamb vindaloo. Amazingly flavourful. Only regret is I wish we ordered more garlic naan… mmmm.
Not very impressed. We ordered bhindi masala and baigan bharta from the Merivale location on 26th July 2014. The bhindi masala (okra curry) was very sour. We had this dish from both Merivale and barrhaven location before and it was OK, But this time it was terrible. And also the Baigan bharta (eggplant) dish was very watery and bland. We had to throw it out the next day. This Indian take out place was very good a couple of years ago and now it seems to be getting worse. Last year we ordered bhindi masala, baigan bharta, mushroom masala and naan from the Barrhaven location and they delivered the wrong food with meat (we are vegetarians). We noticed it too late to call them. We had to go there on the next day and they refunded us. After that incident we didn’t order food from Karara until last week.
Not consistent – quality declining. We have tried to support this place. The food is just not consistent. Very different from one order to the next. The quality has plummeted from rich, long simmered flavourful soups to artificially thickened slop. Service and delivery has always been poor and no sign of change. They have received our last order.Pass on Karara
Called into order for a delivery for a friend, they guy at the phone refused to deliver as it’s too late!! 8.45 it was!! They guy was very rude!! Couldn’t speak proper English either!! Discusting and bad service. Not sure how these guys are surviving. They are the worst ever. The lady was mean, the place is dirty and the food, can’t describe it.
