While the food was very good for the most part (except for the BBQ chicken that was overcooked and very dry), the waitress was brusque and argued with us about about every single one of our choices from the menu (WTF?). Then several of us had to wait to pay while the man at the cash had a long, drawn out conversation on the phone. Not worth the long trip from Elmvale Acres – we can get the same good food and argumentative service from Lebanese restaurants closer to home.
Not for people who want a quick fix, everything on the menus is delicious and the food are served with generous quantities. The 2.7 rating should be ignored as it is the 3rd best restaurant in Ottawa as voted by Ottawa Magazine. The food is more than great and the staff is very friendly and open for criticism.
A great hidden gem in nepean. I don’t know if it’s fair to even call it hidden because it’s a big ol building but having lived a very short distance away for the last decade I had not heard of this place until recently. We ordered a half chicken and mixed BBQ plate for a dinner for 6 people. There was more than enough food and they generously added extra pita and hummus because we had said we were worried there might not be enough. For 6 people the cost was about 100$ which is less than 18$ a person and the food was DELICIOUS! Great quality everything, tasty and fresh! We were so impressed we went back the Monday but they were closed Mondays (whoops). Definitely will be back and worth spreading the word for.
The previous reviewer got this place all wrong. You don’t go here for the shitty lunch special sandwich. Their specialty is their half grilled chicken, kebab, kafta, and shish taouk. This place has some of the best grilled meats, amazing homemade hummus, garlic, and pickled turnips. I just had a meal there with friends and we literally ordered all these items and everyone loved their food.
Even for the shawarma lover that I am, this place was confusing. The name does not refer to shawarma. My chicken sandwich was just ok, needed a bit more spice.
