Great food!!
Delicious Jerk Chicken!. My first time dining out for Jamaican food and it was delicious! I had the jerk chicken. Perfect sized portions and great quality.
Ok guys anyone that says this restaurant is less than 5 out of 5 does not know what good food is. I have been all over the world and have eaten at 100’s of restaurants and lil negril always exceeds our expectations. The service is like eating at your moms house and portions are fine. They have by far the best grilled fish and mango salsa i have ever eaten.
Great all around. First, I will agree that the portion sizes are a bit lean, but otherwise this place is great! I like that you can custom select how spicy you want your food. I share my plate with a toddler so it’s great to have that option. The food is well cooked and nicely flavoured. Everything was very fresh. Now I may not remember what authentic Jamaican tastes like but it doesn’t take away that this was a delicious meal!
Food was great but the portions are small. I wanted to try this restaurant because of the article in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper. I chose the jerk pork off the take-out lunch menu at $8.99. I really wanted jerk chicken but they didn’t have a lunch size and I am not willing to pay over $15 with tax for lunch. The food was really good and really fresh. The presentation was also really nice. The downfall is the portion of meat was really really small. Maybe 7 small bites of pork were included with rice and peas and a little (very little) salad on top for garnish. I was also disappointed that they didn’t sell Jamiacan patties being one of the biggest traditional items you would want going to a Jamican restaurant. The staff were also very nice and pleasant as well as the appearance of the restaurant.
What???. This is not really an island restaurant at all..What they call a bust up shut roti is a flimsy piece of bread with a serving of stir fried chicken and vegetables. The curry is a weird stir fry sauce. You don’t get any value at all, it’s better to spend your 20 dollars at a Chinese buffet.
We love foods from the Caribbean excited to try lil’ Negril after reading a newspaper review. The dishes ordered were tasty, there was absolutely no heat to them. My husband asked for hot sauce at it arrived near the end of the meal. In our opinion (and I am of Caribbean heritage)-this good was not authentic. We were dissapointed.
