We ordered a number of items a-la-carte for delivery last night. First time ordering from Liu’s. Unfortunately, it will be the last. We ordered Hunan style chicken, Beef and Brocolli, Sechuan Noodles with Beef, and a couple of fried rices.Inexplicably, all three dishes looked and tasted EXACTLY the same. I’m not kidding. Same color, sauce, taste. It’s like the chef just put different vegetables in three different pans and just poured on the same thin, pale, oily sauce. I could have overlooked it if the taste had at least been amazing, but it was really bland and had very little character. The beef was also the low quality rubbery stuff that I would normally expect from the the usual Americanized fluorescent-red sweet and sour chicken ball takeout places. TIP: For a $13/dish, use a proper piece cut of meat since there’s only about 80 grams of it in each dish anyway. The vegetables were quite decent. A little rushed as they were all still really crunchy, but at least they gave the dishes some substance. The fried rice was middle of the road. I appreciated the bits/strips of BBQ pork, and the consistency was nice.Pros: Quick delivery, decent BBQ Pork fried rice. Fresh vegetables.Cons: Massively outweighing the pros: Bland food and dishes that are all the same. In any case, we gave them their shot to have our business. If they feel like reaching out to us and proving that we didn’t just waste $51, I’m open to it. 613-878-2453
Kids really wanted chinese food so we stopped here instead of our usual spot. So bad the kids wouldn’t even eat it. I tried it, it was bland and tasteless – but very much so. The lemon chicken was the crappiest piece of meat they could find, I’m sure. Will never go back.
To start, delivery was prompt and the driver was quite nice. The tofu pad thai was very tasty. Just the perfect amount of spice for me. The shrimp lo mein was ok. It was a bit spicier than expected, but I think I messed that up myself, so cannot hold that against them. It is a good enough place to order again, especially for quick and easy delivery. I may explore more places. But, the pad thai flavour was good, so it could be my go to place for that dish at least.
SO bad!!!!!!!! Avoid.. This is by far the worst food in in Barrhaven.
Not happy. Sat down and had lunch today here..got chicken dishes with rice, very overpriced and did not like the food at all. If you are craving Chinese, do not eat here – not good. Sorry to say but a waste of money and time.
Not the biggest fan. Ordered chop suey, egg foo young and sweet and sour breaded shrimp for take out. Everything tasted very bland and the egg foo young and chop suey were very soggy. Look somewhere else if you have a craving for Chinese.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. I go to Lius cuisine all the time! Great and fast service, and great food. I always order take out or even take the time to go eat there with my family, I always recommend this place to everyone, and all love it also. Never to busy, always welcome. I recommend the combination plate for 10$ you get a lot of food!
