Good selection of desserts, service was fine. Decoration was quite nice. I wasnt very impressed though since after tax and tip the dinner buffet was $40 per person and the food was not good considering. It was like food that you could get from the TNT ready made food bar. The advertised lamb was super fatty and the prime rib was dry and tasteless. Definitely not worth it for dinner, maybe okay for lunch.
I have never seen a buffet this big before. And the seating area is plentiful so you really dont have to wait to eat. The selection was out of this world. They have absolutely everything you could possibly want. But the food is quality and they only put our small quantities so its fresher than most nuggets with large tubs of food. I cant rave about this place enough and I will try and eat there every time I am back in Ottawa. momnomnomsblog.wordpress.com
Very popular AYCE! For a wednesday night the place was busy! We only waited a couple of minutes to be seated and the service was amazing throughout our night! Water and coffee refills, hot towels and all with a great attitude. Food was warm and replenished automatically. Great variety (canadian-chinese, pizza, sushi, salad and soup bar – even had ribs and salmon!) Their dessert section is HUGE! We loved our evening out. Only downside would be the price 24.99 for weekdays and 31.99 on weekends wich we thought was a little much .
Surprisingly great butWe had a surprisingly great meal st this buffet restaurant. All you can eat. While it mainly focuses on oriental dishes it also has some dishes such as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. I must admit the roast beef was really great. It was medium rare and tender with au jus just perfect. The fish was also properly done, fresh and tender. The shrimps ere great too. Many of the Chinese dishes were the North American kind such as sweet and sour pork and chicken balls but the dishes were fresh tasty. I personally prefer more authentic dishes. The only dish I didn’t like were the spring rolls. They were deep fried and dripped of oil. There is also a fairly good salad bar and a large selection of sweets. Plus cotton candy for kids. The food display is attractive, well lit, spotless and clean! Now for the bad: we were told there was 1 hour wait but we waited for 1.5 hours. The tables are so crowded that getting in and out to the buffet was awful. We also noted people walking in well ahead of us which was frustrating. We only found out by chance taking to a diner that they take reservations. There should be a sign!!!I wish they would better advertise taking reservations or mention it as you enter the restaurant so you don’t feel that people are walking in ahead of you! So do call ahead and make reservations. The cost: pricey: 32$ weekend dinners and kids are half price. Plus the price of drinks. Still it is worth it for all the fresh well prepared food!
A large selection of average or below average buffet food. Dinner pricing is expensive but lunch is acceptable. Always busy and parking lot is always full.
If you enjoy good Chinese food (let alone authentic), this isnot the place to go. The egg rolls are tasteless, oily and loosely packed. Almost everything that is fried or deep-fried is oily. Anything breaded is way over breaded. If you only want roast beef, pizza, crabs legs, or shrimps, go to a restaurant that specializes in those foods. Ambiance is like a huge cafeteria with a few walls to separate the seating areas from the food area.At $80.00 for the buffet for 2 peopleand 1 glass of house wine itis over priced. Service is quick and efficient due to the fact there is a large staff.
Staff are friendly and set up is far better than other Chinese buffets in Ottawa BUT if you like authentic Chinese food and expect more than chicken balls and salad and some sweet cookies that is not the place to go, not many variety of real authentic Chinese foods. Cost around $20 per person for a lunch buffet without drink. I rather go to the one on Merivale Road as they have more varieties and cost a lot less.
