Terrible. I suspect a lot of the previous glowing review were bogus.We booked an office xmas dinner based on them and were sorely disappointed.The carpeting is filthy – bare tables – no table cloths. The lights on full made the shabbiness glaringly obvious.We had a coffee downstairs in the ratty bar prior – when we got to our table and I ordered another coffee the waitress asked if I had brought my coffee cup up with me. She seemed annoyed about getting me a fresh one.The calamari was deep fied, cold and rubbery.I had the seafood linguine – the description in the menu was nothing like what arrived. The creamy sauce turned out to be a pink glutinous mass with 2 scallops and 2 shrimp sitting on top. Luke warm at that with cold hard garlic toast perched on the side.I couldn’t even resort to the bread rolls in the basket – one side fresh the other side stale and hard – guess they had been sitting around for a while.Other than our table there were only two other tables of 2 people each. So needless to say the service was attentive.For desert they only had 2 selections creme brule or plain cheesecake. After my experience with appetizers and the main course I thought it was prudent to pass.The only thing upscale about this place was the price.My advice – run – don’t walk – to pizza pizza – you will get a better meal, better decor and a better price.
One of the best in the city. I came here on whim after a recommendation and was truly impressed. Who knew such a tame-looking restaurant would be so good? Their grilled calamari is one of the best in the city and the local Mill St Organic beer they have on tap is delicious. Would definitely come back!

This place is a gem in the city. It was recommended to us by some close friends and were very impressed. We had the lobster, pine salad and shared the delicious grilled calamari. Everything was absolutely delicious, the service was great and a seat on the patio overlooking the river was beautiful.
Lunched on May 28th. Nice ambiance and decor. The service was cheerful and efficient (thanks Kelsey). The food was flavourful and nicely presented (although I would prefer smaller pieces of lettuce in the ceasar salad).
Very over rated. It was embarrassing to host our guests for a 65th wedding anniversary at the Pine Restaurant May 24, 2012. With only 6 other guests in the restaurant all evening, our table of 20 guests (with a reservation made 3 weeks prior) waited 1 hour for our meals which were cold and either under or over cooked – no one enjoyed their meal and most did not finish. Several wines on the wine list were not available as well. The servers needed to be asked to clear the table 45 minutes after people finished eating and we needed to ask if dessert and coffee would be offered. Guests were so turned off everyone left without having dessert or coffee. When we requested to speak with the manager during dinner she was unavailable and after dinner when it came time to pay the bill she was gone home. I love it!! Gorgeous decor, great food, and great service! Our servers name was Jordan and he was absolutely exceptional. Will be coming here to eat more often.
