Disappointing lunch even using a BOGO coupon. First glass of craft brew was off. Cheerfully given a replacement. Food was mediocre (how do you screw up fish and chips?) . Salad was tires. Even with BOGO deal not good value or food. Staff were cheerful and helpful – too bad the food did not match the service.
Part of the citywide a chain of British themed pub restaurants, this location offers a large outdoor patio and a well priced pub themed menu. A good selection of beer on tap as well as in bottles, a somewhat inspired drink menu and very friendly and accommodating staff make this location one of the ones you should visit. Very popular with locals who frequent this pub often. A great place to watch sporting events or spend time with family and friends.
Wonderful first visit; every one after that was mediocre. I had a great first visit – the food was fresh and delicious – I ordered a warm goat cheese and walnut salad. I’ve been there a couple times since, ordering the same meal along with a variety of appetizers and sides and found the food they use to be of inconsistent quality – especially the chicken – I no longer get that addition. Wait staff polite but not very attentive. Nothing horrible, I go when friends want to, but I never recommend it.
Tried a burger here about a year ago and it was burnt, i sent it back feeling very confused as to why they would serve it to me. Went back for a second chance and ordered the fish and chips (they claim its their best dish) . The batter on the fish was a dark brown colour and could barely cut into it, it was so hard. It tasted like the oil was old. Again, i sent it back as did the company i was with. I will never return!13 Apr, 2014Extremely over priced for what you get! I couldnt believe it, i wont go back.
Frozen food?. Ordered three oak burgers with fries and gravy for take out. The bill was $54. The burgers were frozen patties like the ones you buy from a grocery store and the fries were frozen and twice cooked. Most pubs, like the barley mow, serve fresh beef patties and fresh cut fries. The staff is great. If you’ve got a craving for a fresh juicy pub burger and fresh cut fries, this is not the place. Especially for the price.
Great service but who is in charge of the menu?. Staff here are friendly and courteous. But what’s up with the recent changes to the menu? No more wine in half litre sizes? Hope they reconsider this soon.
