Feels like Cora but looks better, doesn’t have that weird Cora smell and food is better. Depending on the time you go, especially on the weekend expect to wait a few minutes for a table if you have a large party. On to the food: Coffee is strong (a little too strong-will require a bunch of sugar if you take it sweet). They consistently walk around refilling the coffeeEggs (omelettes) are done wellThe hashbrown potatoes are amazing! They are the perfect size and are very flavourfulPrices are decent especially early bird specials.

This restaurant is similar to Cora’s in menu and price. Portion sizes are very big; they don’t skimp on food. Service was quick. Friendly staff. Spacious booths. Clean restaurant.

Bright. Cheery. Good portions. Good fruit. Service is friendly but slow. The food is a little bland — stick to simple dishes. Do not order latte.

Ended up here one morning for a work breakfast. It’s in a strip mall on Merivale, and though I had been by many times, I had never given it a second look. I have to say they do what coras does, and better. Now in fairness the place wasn’t a zoo, but about half full at 8 am, so busy enough. Our server was attentive without being disruptive, and had a good sense of humour, which helped make our interactions smoother while my coffee had a chance to kick in. I am not, as they say, a ‘morning person’. I of course had the eggs Bennie with asparagus and Swiss, all high-maintenance poached medium on rye toast with bacon stacked in there too. My coffee was kept piping as we passed the short wait till our meals arrived. The breakfast itself was great! The hollandaise was there but not overpowering, and their home fried potatoes, in round slices, were crispy around the edges. The right side of my oblong platter was full of fresh fruit, which I devoured. I saw others ordering French toast, waffles, crepes, omelets, and all looked equally well prepared.I would bring my mom and my aunts here for brunch, or come on a Saturday if Broadway is too long a wait. 20$ breakfast, coffee and tip. Bennies are on the high side you could certainly leave satisfied under $10.

Had breakfast there this morning around 9:30, which was well past the morning rush so no excuses for not making proper food. I ordered eggs bacon and blueberry crepe. The bacon felt and tastes like leftover from the morning, and the crepe tasted like raw dough. I tried one bite and left the rest. The eggs over easy was ok. Coffee tastes burnt and was replaced. I should have asked for replacement for the food but I was so upset I did not do it. Service was so so in that she saw I did not like the crepe she should have offered alternatives. She just stood in the background. Would not go back.

I found the majority of their menu is almost an exact rip-off of Cora’s. That being said, I used to prefer this place. When it first opening, it was really quite good. But it became hit or miss, and I mostly stopped going. This used to be my go-to breakfast spot, but it got so inconsistent. I did give it another chance recently, and wasn’t particularly impressed.I’ve found the service varies widely. I’ve had times where everything was perfect. I’ve have other times when I had to sit around and wait an hour to get our bill at the end of the meal. The coffee I’ve found half the time it is acceptable, half the time it is burnt. I typically get their big waffle breakfast with all bacon. Their waffle sometimes seems to have their homefry seasoning in it, which makes for a curious flavour addition, but not in a good way. Sometimes the meal comes with toast, sometimes it doesn’t, seems to depend on the server’s mood. The amount of bacon seems to vary also. I always ask for bacon instead of all the other meats. Sometimes I get 4 slices. Sometimes I get 6. Occasionally, I get 3.The fruit is also inconsistent. I get that it is seasonal and they use whatever is available. But when I am eating with someone else, and their equal sized fruit bowl comes with grapes and strawberries, and mine does not, it definitely shows a lack of consistency when 2 people at the same table order the same thing, but there are differences.Like most places, if you order over medium eggs, don’t expect them to get it right. It 90% of the time it is either over hard, or over easy.On a good day, I’d highly recommend this place. But it seems their bad days outnumbered their good ones, so overall, I can’t specifically recommend it.

This place is hit and miss. First time I came here I ordered the blueberry crepes and swore I would never return. At a social gathering where this was the restaurant selected for brunch I came again and ordered the French toast with fresh fruit and creme- it was quite good and the portions are large. Others I dined with also enjoyed their meal. I guess don’t order their crepes!
