Off the charts!. Our go to place for Chinese food in Barrhaven. We always order zesty beef stir fry, and a shrimp dish or lemon chicken. And the spring rolls…….mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!We always have leftovers for the next day.Portions are generous!
Dudes, it’s all about what you order. Admittedly, we found our perfect meal here early on, and we don’t stray from it too often. We have no reason to. The vegetable fried rice offers a generous helping of perfectly-cooked (still fresh and slightly crunchy) veggies with light, tasty rice. Best chicken balls in town, with crisp yet fluffy breading over fair chunks of white meat. Tasty egg rolls are crispy and well-seasoned, well-filled. Lots of almonds in the almond chicken guy ding – okay, on a bad day, there may be a few too many onion pieces. Garlic spare ribs are a sweet, saucy treat. And I personally indulge in the fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce. Another sweet, crispy treat. We also enjoy the crispy beef, when we feel like shaking things up. Winner House has kept me fairly loyal for 10 years. Others just don’t seem to measure up.

Could be better. One of our dishes was good but the other dish that they brought to us was disgusting and tasteless. It was a rice dish with egg except the egg was not scrambled, it was sunny side up on the top of the dish. It was covered with some kind of gelatinous clear stuff which was tasteless and gross. We tried to eat it but the rice became mushy and I couldn’t make myself eat it. The other dish we ordered was good as were the eggrolls but nothing spectacular. We’ve had much better!!
Go to WANS!!!. The food here is okay but I always found it inconsistent,sometimes alright sometimes not.If you want the best chinese in Barrhaven by far it’s WANS but if you order on a special day( christmas eve, new years eve) it can take hours to get your order ,it’s really busy WANS is the best!!!
24 years and counting. Been ordering from here for over 24 years. Very nice owners and always a good meal.
