A good try. Service is excellent, fast and friendly. The portions are generous and the fish well cooked with crisp batter of a good thickness. The fries looked home cut but tasted as if frozen and were too dry to really call English style. The mushy peas were also oddly dry and for once the portion meagre. I admit that I am often suspicious of claims to English style fish and chips but this is a place that wants to raise your expectations. At present it only partially delivers.

Vanilla was really good.Gluten free options available – All fish can be ordered grilled instead of battered, and chips are cooked in a dedicated fryer.
We went to chip n malt for the first time. The fish and chips were delicious, huge portions. We also got the calamari. Huge portion. The burgers were amazing, all home made. The service was fantastic and they really made you feel welcome. All around fantastic restaurant with no complaints. We will be back soon
