Our search for good food took us to our neighbourhood city New market. Made in Mexico is on Main Street and sounds a small place but is pretty big with sitting capacity of around 100. We went at 8:30 pm and the place was super crowded. Staff here is excellent and they help a lot in ordering food. They also make us aware if we over ordered as portion is really big. We got classic lime margarita which went well on a hot day. In main course we ordered Enchiladas with cheese which was baked to perfection and Rajas Tacos was yummy. Also we got burritos with cheese which was huge and great in taste. All main course comes with 2 side dishes that you can choose from 5 options like Mexican rice or lime rice or tortilla soup or refried beans. They also give spicy sauce of jalapeos which goes well with everything. They are pretty good in celebrating birthdays so would recommend to celebrate here. Over all ausm place with reasonable price and very Mexican ambience.
Nice experience at this restaurant: friendly service, fun atmosphere and good food. We had the Fiesta Platter and everything tasted fresh! Nothing overcooked or dry like some other Mexican restaurants. We added a side of guacamole which completed the platter, in my opinion. They should consider adding it as part of the platter. Regardless, I would definitely go back again.
2018/04/07We havent been to Made in Mexico for a few years, so we thought it was time for another visit. It was a little busy when we got there at dinner time, and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table. After a quick look at the extensive menu, we decided on a couple of our favourites. SWBMO selected the Enchiladas Mole with Chicken, and sides of Salad and Tortilla Soup. The enchiladas were topped with a chocolaty mole, which again was topped with a whole bunch if melted cheese. A decent dish. I opted for the Mexican Fajitas Alambres, with Grilled Chicken and sides of Salad and Lime & Cilantro Rice. The Alambres recipe includes melted cheese with the chicken, rather than an addon ingredient at the table. The dish came with 5 corn tortillas, which was more than enough to wrap all the fillings. Service was friendly, but seemed a bit slow, which was a bit understandable, given how full the restaurant was.
The most authentic Mexican restaurant we could find near Markham. Great ambience, delicious food and timely service. All their veggies were so fresh. Loved it!
I heard good things about this place and, when friends were coming over, I decided that we would go try it out. It met all of my expectations and exceeded many. I had a really good experience there and will likely be back. Despite the long wait time, as expected as we had no reservation, it was hardly boring in the entrance. The bar was full but the walls are filled with art to keep one distracted. We were promptly seated a couple of minutes after our table was vacated. The food we ordered was varied, but it was all flavourful and well-presented. If anything, I might have felt a little overwhelmed as there are SO MANY options on the menu. Despite how busy the place was, I felt that we got our meal in a good time. The one complaint I might have had was that our server was not back to give more water at the table after the food was served. In any case, I had a really good time and would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Mexican food or is interested in trying.
Made in Mexico is this real nice Mexican restaurant located on Main St in Newmarket. The restaurant is a Mexican one with a Western flair. There is a large bar serving up giant Margaritas and cocktails. The servers actually appear to be Latin and were really friendly and helpful. Menu was strictly Mexican and was glad to see items like Enchiladas, Burritos, Flautas, and tacos without any items like fries or burgers. (More Mexican places have these on their menus than you think…)We ordered the Mix N Match Tacos ($12.95), with the ability to choose up to 4 different tacos, which is exactly what i wanted. I wanted to try all the different kinds of tacos they have so this was definitely the best option. Ordered the Al Pastor, Carnitas, Carne Asada, and Chorizo tacos. The Al Pastor was pork with pineapple chunks. The pineapple flavor never really did come through, but I thought the pork was very savory and meshed well with soft corn tortillas. The Carne Asada was my favorite, though I was hoping for sliced steak as opposed to a pulled beef sort. The Carnitas were good, but I thought a bit bland as there needed to be more kick to it (ask for hot sauce). Chorizo is ground sausage and this was overly oily but did have a good taste to it. You can get the hard taco shells for a dollar more. You get two sides with the meal so opted for Lime and Cilantro Rice with Bean Soup. The Bean soup was incredible. Loved the smokiness, flavor, and consistency. Not too thick or runny, the mixture was perfect for throwing rice into and having a rice and beans mix that reminds me of Old Miami. The place is definitely great for groups, and apparently birthdays too. There were probably 3 birthday songs played in a one hour span where the servers gathered together and sang a Spanish song with sombreros gathered for the party as well. Seems like good fun. cheatdayeveryday.com
Last Friday, my girlfriend and I came back from Alberta to Ontario to visit our family in the Vaughan Area. After a long discussion with our friends, we decided to try Made In Mexico in Newmarket. Upon arrival to the restaurant, greeting from the staff was awesome. We had a reservation and they sat us at our table without issue and with a smile. Shortly after, our waitress came out with menus and asked for our drinks. I got the lime bulldog and my girlfriend got the strawberry bulldog. Mine was horrible. Very watered down and saltier than McDonald’s fries. Definitely not worth the $11. Then once we were all ready, we ordered some appetizers which me and my girlfriend got the refried beans dip with chips. That I have to say was quite delicious! Would definitely fly back just for those LOL. However, getting to the main course, I ordered the chicken quesadilla. This came with a garden salad and Mexican rice. OMG it was horrible! The chicken in the quesadilla tasted fake and something powdered. The rice tasted like clorox bleach and the salad was sour and the lettuce was reddish as if it was going bad. I didn’t end up finishing any of what was on my plate. Lost my appetite completely. Personally I have crossed this restaurant off my list and will never returned and until I can find a real authentic Mexican restaurant, I am skeptical about their food. Sort of a party pooper if you will. Oh and by the way, be prepared as there is no A/C in the summer. Didn’t bother my much as its authentic, but for those who can’t handle heat, don’t bother going.
