Piccola offers a casual dining experience with modest decor of wooden tables and booths. There were a few TV’s there with the hockey game on for our viewing pleasure, so don’t expect an intimate dining experience. The food was pretty good, I ordered the veal parmesan with a side of fries. It wasn’t anything too phenomenal, I would say it was just average. The portions are very generous though, I couldn’t even finish my meal and had to take the rest home for lunch the next day. I also had the mushroom soup, which was pleasantly surprising. It wasn’t your typical gloopy cream of mushroom you might think of. The broth was thinner than normal, but it was still incredibly rich and flavourful, and had larger pieces of mushroom. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The service was okay, our waitress seemed hurried and busy with other tasks, so she wasn’t very attentive, but we weren’t in any kind of rush. It was just a little annoying at the end when we were trying to pack up leftovers and get the bill.
Comforting. Stopped in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. Great sandwiches! Panzos are generous, but not crispy enough as deep fried ones go. Friendly service, fair prices, worth a shot!
