Ate there on October 24, 2015. It took 2 1/2 hours to get our food. 7:30 pm reservation, ate at 10 pm The waitress admitted that they had someone not show up for their shift and we did see the owner (sort of) working. Not at any point did the owner go to any tables to apologize or to offer a free drink, appetizer….anything!!!.I will never be going back to a place that treats its customers so poorly.
I visited Spero along with my wife for the first time with my wife and was immediately welcomed by the hostess. We were surprised to be seated in such a well decorated, high-end dining room. After we were seated, our waiter, who was quite the chatter box, however was very friendly.I started off with the mushroom salad, which was incredible, while my wife enjoyed a Caesar salad. After that point I wondered if it could get any better than that and it definitely did. For my main I had the Pollo Alfredo (which has always been my favorite pasta) while my wife had the Spero pizza and we were both blown away! We finished the night off with beautifully prepared cappuccinos while sharing a delicious cheesecake.Overall, our experience at Spero was incredible and we would (and already have) recommended it to all our friends. To Spero: We will definitely be back!
Very disappointed and would not return. 8 of us had dinner last night. I would not recommend it the service was very slow espesically waiting an hour for main course. We all had different dishes and all agreed lacked flavour . The wine list was over priced and wine was served warmer than room tempiture.
The gem that deserves better!. As a long time patron of Spero Ristorante I felt that after reading this review, and the obviously cut and paste job in this and other places, by the same individual, I just could not stay silent and let this diamond in the rough go unchallenged. My business has supported Spero for two years, of it being open for about three and a half years. The clients, family,and friends that I have brought there come away raving about the food and service. If, and maybe once in my patronage something was amiss, the staff did what they could to make it right. The owner Trisha responds to complaints the ease of someone that is aware that every person be they compliment or complaint, are treated with the same care and and seriousness they deserve. She is timely in responses, and my experience she goes out of her way to be a solutions finder. It is regrettable that this negative review that was made in anger, and unfair in that they did not give the owner an opportunity to make it right, saddens me. This gem is perfect.
What a Disappointment – Nothing Outstanding. I went there for dinner with my husband and cousins for New Year’s Eve. I made the reservation on the 2th of December and was surprised to find I could at table at the time requested. That should have been the first sign. We had to wait patiently for the hostess to arrive, who was not very happy to see us (our reservation was for 6:30pm), however we were eventually seated, the dining room is pleasant, and the food was okay, al little bit bland and way over priced! However, my real disappointment was with the waiter, who went back and forth between being snobby (it was like he thought he was too good to be waiting on simple people like us) and just rude, making a couple of comments that were uncalled for to a member of our dinner party. 4 people for dinner with wine and it was $400, the wine was good, probably the best part of the dinner, but was not overly expensive, their website says the average cost is about $40 per person and that doesn’t include and wine or other cocktails, but $100 per person, they must have jacked up their prices for New Years, charging $2.50 each for the glasses of ginger ale our designated driver was drinking. I am local and was quite excited to have a nice little Italian restaurant nearby, what a disappointment!I see there is a new restaurant opening just off of Main Street in Newmarket with a similar name, I sure hope it is not owned by the same people and has a much better atmosphere and friendlier staff. I will wait patiently to try this restaurant out and hope for the best, but I won’t be returning to Spero!
Thank you!!. I had to take the time to write a review on our recent experience with Spero Ristorante and Wine Bar. My sister and I held a small event in their private room for our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Everything was amazing. From Trish who helped us design a menu and book our event to our waitress who handled everything efficiently. The food is amazing and you cannot ask for a better atmosphere. Thank you Spero for helping make our parents anniversary a memorable one.
Great Evening. I was there recently with a group of friends. We had such a wonderful evening! Thank you to Trisha for helping us pick out a wine to compliment our meals. They have such a great wine list with too many wonderful wines. It is hard to choose just one. The service was friendly and attentive. The server and the chef were very helpful to make a meal for one of my friends who has several diet restrictions. There are so many gluten free options on the menu too which is rare. The food, well it was fantastic! I loved the veal marsala. It just melts in your mouth! Every course was prepared fresh. You could tell that they don’t precook the food and just heat it up. Everyone in the party raved about the meals. The best part was we were not rushed. We had time to chat and enjoy the evening without being hurried through our meals. It was such a relaxing evening and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you to everyone who made our night out fantastic!S. Logan
