Service is great at this small place even when line up is out the door. Food is good except for the grilled fish for a healthier option. Small, flat and rubbery. All the fried food is tasty though. If someone in Newmarket wanted fish and chips this is where I would send them.
My grandfather and I are regulars.The people running this restaurant and fantastic. We read an article about this establishment regarding a young woman trying to get a last meal for a very sick family member during closed hours, and they actually opened up early for her to make it, and for free! The Big Catch is a great place with a classic feel and I will continue to enjoy it weekly.
Our first time here and we had halibut, chips, and salad. There are bags of potatoes in the back hall and the fries are good–taste like potato! Light in colour so the oil is fresh. Salad had romaine, onion, tomato–crisp and fresh with a house-made Greek style vinaigrette. Will definitely be back.

The BIG Grease PIT!. We though it was a great place. Packed and all food looked great.Order the usual F&C, got home and looked into the bag. Wow! All the French Fries and Cod? were soaked in Shortening and when it hardend it was all over in white parifin wax coating. I had to Nuke and Blot to get rid of that grease pit.Allencort F&S in Richmond hill used to server the best Halibut and Fries Never again that is dumpy too.Can anyone suggest a good Fish Place in the GNA? (Greater Newmarket Area? 🙂 )
