2019/04/06Dennys in Niagara Falls is ridiculously overpriced. Most of the breakfast choices are around $18 to $20. We tried out this location with our family 20 years ago, and the prices were so high then that we walked out and went somewhere else. SWBMO and I decided to try again, and the prices were still too high. It seems like they are taking advantage of the US/Canada exchange rate, so that the net cost would be somewhat favourable to US customers, but puts the screws to Canadians. its a Dennys for goodness sake; it is diner food and should have diner prices. To keep the price more reasonable for us, we ordered from the 55+ menu. SWMBO ordered the 55+ Grilled Cheese Sandwich & Soup ($14.99), and substituted Fries instead of soup. Very basic sandwich without any frills. I chose the 55+ Scrambled Eggs & Cheddar Breakfast, which came with 2 pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 sausages ($14.99). Most of the meal was fine, but the two pieces of bacon were the thinnest, smallest pieces of bacon I have ever been served at a restaurant. SWBMO had a Coke which was $4.25, and my milk was $4.49. Ridiculous. Server was pleasant, although it did take a few minutes for someone to come to our table after we were seated.
