Absolutely terrible experience that ruined our Niagara trip. My wife was violently sick for three days after eating their chicken burger and my 9 year old daughter politely had to asked the waitress to take back the pasta because she could taste raw flour on it and the meat sauce was just red water. She didn’t ask for a new one, she simply said there’s no point because the food didn’t taste good. I still had to pay for it though. I complained about the chicken the very next day and it seems as though no one was very concerned. I got one call. No follow up. That was two weeks ago. On a separate note: Our waitress was wonderfully friendly and very helpful.
The food is great however, not impressed with management & staff lies about the Niagara Falls Destination Fee (NFDF) having to being mandatory for their location. This is something that is optional and can be removed when requested however, they get an individual who they say is their manager come to your table to discuss the fee (8%) & how it is mandatory. If you have issues and they dont remove it be sure to make a note on the merchant copy of the receipt stating that you do not agree to the NFDF charge portion thus you can call your credit card company to do a Chargeback and/or minus part of the tip. The Niagara Falls Destination Fee (NFDF) is not regulated so this fee could be going back as extra TIPs to management.
The food and service is exactly what you would expect at any East Side Mario’s. I was pleased to find the service and food did not suffer based on location. I would have preferred to have been advised that the 8% tourism fee was optional even though it is placed on your bill.
Although not authentic, the lasagna appetizer is good. Pizza is tasty with a good sauce, decent cheese. Dough is very flavorful, but could have stayed in the oven just a bit longer. Anthony, our server was great. Poor beer and wine list. Not New York pizza, but it’ll do in a pinch.
Pizza tasted like store bought frozen pizza
I would give Mario’s a 2 out of 4 review.The arrive was friendly. Quick to bring you drinks, menu’s etc. Pizza’s we ordered were made quickly. However the New Yorker pizza we had ordered tasted like nothing more then a store bought Delicio pizza. It was hot, but I couldn’t eat more then a few slices. Not looking forward to eat the left overs. Ceasers salad was meh. Bacon on it also disappointing not tasting very fresh. Lettua leafs were fresh, but no accompanied with a very good tasting dressing and no kind of cheese on top.
