Second visit and food as good as we remembered. Having experienced an excellent meal here last year we returned for our only meal out for this trip to Niagara and were glad we did. The chef remembered us from last year after we had a short chat and the service he provided along with his colleague could only be criticised as being too attentive if anything.Butter Chicken, Goat Saag and Chicken Tikka were all good and fragrant and not too hot for those that asked for mild. Portions were large and we took some home with us. We will be going here again next time we go to Niagara.
Incredible Indian food. Honestly, the best I’ve had. Don’t let the front facade or decor deceive you. For real authentic and fresh tasting Indian with layers of flavour and depth, this is as good as it gets!!
Karmas Indian Restaurant is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered!. Yesterday afternoon, my husband and I visited Karmas Indian Restaurant located at 8100 Lundys Lane in Niagara Falls, Canada. The restaurant is located at the front of a Howard Johnsons motel. Inside, you will find a small bar with a large screen TV and multiple basic tables for patrons. This restaurant is not at all fancy, but tidy and comfortable. The waiter greeted us promptly and brought over water, plates and cutlery. We ordered a few drinks (beer and wine) and began to investigate the menu. Since we had never been to Karmas before, the waiter was kind enough to suggest a few dishes. We started with Samosas (pastry stuffed with potato and vegetable; served with Indian chutney) and Chaat Papri (crispy wafers served with Indian chutney). Our main course consisted of 2 orders of plain rice, Chicken Curry (chicken cooked in fresh tomato and onion based sauce with Indian herbs and spices) and Chaanna Bhatura (chick peas cooked in authentic spices) and Naan bread (Indian bread cooked in tandoor (clay) oven). Following dinner, the waiter placed a bowl of sugar coated fennel seeds. Chewing fennel seeds after a meal is a common practice in India. They aid in digestion and also freshen the breath. Our dining experience at Karmas was an excellent way to savour authentic Indian cuisine. The unique assortment of tastes and textures made this meal exciting and memorable! We will definitely recommend and return soon!
Delicious , Fresh and great Value. I live in St. Catharines and my husband and I go to Niagara Falls and take out from Karmas. It is fresh, delicious and a fair price. We have eaten in the restaurant which is modest but clean. The chef is so nice and pays attention to detail. Love the Masala chai too!! He made us something that was not even on the menu! Great experience!
Best butter chicken in Niagara! I’m from Mississauga (just south of Indian nation, Brampton) and have tried many butter chicken dishes.. This would be ranked as the 3rd best butter chicken I have tried.. The chicken could be more tender which is what lacks, but still good, and the sauce is perfect with the right amount of punch. The naan is fantastic as well..
Terrible. Visited this restaurant and had terrible experience. We visited around late evening and when we entered this restaurant found a family sitting on a couch and taking nap. At first we thought the restaurant was closed however it was not the case. We went and sat patiently for someone to attend. It took at least 20 minutes to get attended and order food. After food was ordered it took another 1 hour for food to arrive. It appeared as though this restaurant fetches groceries after items are ordered. We ordered for some appetizers thinking it might be served first however the attendant said it will be served along with main dish. The food served was below average and appeared to have made by unprofessional cook. Veg. Biryani ordered tasted like tomato rice however the attended claimed it was Biryani. Overall our experience was terrible and will never visit nor suggest this restaurant to anyone.
Excellent indian food in Niagara Falls, ON. Chicken curry and fish masala was authentic. Service was very good as well. Strongly recommend. Will surely visit again.
