Ambience is definitely Indian, the appearance synced with desi music. For starters, we tried the Chicken platter which had chicken appetizers. Good array of colors and chicken portions.MC :Butter chicken i.e. a must-try Indian meal along with rice / naanPrawn curry along with naan (5/5 for this one)Biryani (Not an exceptional one but an average meal)Didn’t try dessert / drinks, probably in the future.Pricing was a tad high for the repast and one may find it as a burn through.Overall experience 4/5
This food is Indian but it doesn’t really taste all that great. Definitely overpriced… but I know there are better places to go to try authentic Indian cuisine. I don’t know if it is the ingredients or if the taste has been modified to suit western palates. Anyways, we tried the tandoori chicken (was quite bland and just had food coloring on it,couldn’t taste the marination on it), lamb curry (small cup size portion) with butter naan it was non spicy but had quite a bit of lamb pieces. Also tried the aloo tikki chaat with yoghurt (please give it a miss! It’s nothing close to what a chaat should be). Also tried the Jaljeera.. Was OK. The ambience was good, server very helpful andquite spacious;they had a TV that only advertised the ‘Instagram’ worthy photos of their food whereas the taste did not meet my Indian expectations. Did not stop to try the desserts :/
Worst, Terrible, Awful experience! This is the most horrendous restaurant I have ever come across entire GTA. Food is nothing but just refined oil and cream. They have set up the most bizarre way of ordering items so that they can avail maximum chance of ripping you off. Will now explain each and every moment of the entire 35 mins of torture:1) We were 4 people in total and there was no Ala Carte because as per their fancy ordering system they can only entertain you with having food of your choice if you are more than 8 in number2) We ended up ordering individual plates (2 daal makhani and 2 paneer) accompanied by naan and rice to which they said rice is complimentary..yayy! Isn’t it? But wait can you believe that 10 grams of daal ( will post a picture here of the portion size) costs you freaking 14 dollars if you order it without bread.3.) We were superhungry and their miniature/ tasting size portion weren’t sufficient to eat along with rice and bread so we ordered for just 2 extra daal without bread and rice and the server didnt took the pain to advice us that daal itself (two smallest bowl in the history of restaurants) will cost us 34 dollars.4.) The bill came out to be 125 dollars for the awful experience on which they had added gratuity which apparantly is service tip and made it mandatory.5.) We argued with the server about charging us 34 dollars for 2 little bowl of daal. He first lied on our face that he explained us that this will cost this much which was absolutely not true as we are not suffering with short term memory loss and on top of that he smiled as if he was successful fooling us and said now because you have ate up all you have to pay whatever is written on the bill. He justified the price by saying that takes this bowl everyday at home for dinner at the same price which is14 dollars. Can you believe that?We both work in downtown and even there 14 dollars will bring a full meal to your table it was not mentioned anywhere and nor anyone told us.6.) Wait, this didn’t end up here. We paid and went back and then my friend called me up and said she is feeling nauseatious after 10 mins since we left.I then realized that’s why my husband and her husband were complaining that cottage cheese (paneer) tastes sour and dated but we were so busy in eating that we gave didnt pay attention then. So, in a nutshell we paid 125 dollars with mandatory service tax on top of HST for the worst service ever and took back nausea home instead of memories.Never ever never ever go there again if you really care about your hard earned money, self respect and health.
This place apparently got a renovation since the last time I came in. The service was still poor as I remember, it looked like they painted at least and well the food was far from anything half descent to serve to a guest. Hopefully they will get better
Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday!! I step in there and see a large tour group had occupied nearly 3/4th of the restaurant. There were only 2 servers and both were busy attending those guests. We got seated and kept waiting for someone to look at us, serve water, give plates etc. I look at another couple seated across me and they weren’t being attended either! I guess Moksha prioritizes large groups over small parties! I mean why not…its a big business but then, atleast have more servers??Most items we tried ordering from the lunch menu weren’t available. The chai was so watery…surprised to see an Indian restaurant serving this kind of chai! We tried ordering whatever was available from the menu…which eventually did taste good! I believe, if I had gone for dinner or had the large party not been present at the time I went, I would’ve maybe had a better experience!!!
worst customer service, owner and manager have very bad attitude,,,very bad in resturant service. i would never step in that resturant where they dont care for customer
