Bad service to say the least.
Just average fast food chicken. not fine dining by anymeans as i feel alot of the reviews seem to have been hinting theo wanted. Food was properly cooked, seating area well kept and clean.
Popeye’s as a chain is great- real, juicy chicken made right. But THIS Popeye’s is something different. Today I waited 20min for a 5 piece spicy tenders. ($~8.75). I heard the fryer timer sounding the alarm, but the cook wad mopping the kitchen floor. Imagine my horror when he finally put down the cleaning supplies and, without washing his hands or putting on gloves, handled my food. Yum! Then when I asked for BBQ sauce, I got handed one little packet. Really? Really?? If I ran that place, and I had a customer waiting 20min, I’d give him an extra tender and I wouldn’t skimp on the BBQ sauce. To top it all off, the decor is ghetto-uncomfortable. Like they don’t want you to eat there. One wall had absolutely nothing on it. No Popeye’s mural, no Popeye’s posters… Just an unadorned 40ft length of wall. If this weren’t Canada, I’d guess this place was stripped down to bare bones due to homeless and drug dealing loiterers. Scary this Popeye’s.
It doesn’t get any cheaper than this!. Cheap, cheap, and cheap!!!!! Spent over $20 and couldn’t get a single piece of chicken breast without paying extra. Not to mention, we requested mild chicken and were given several pieces of hot n’ spicy. Really????? Needless to say, a return trip is not in the works!
Bait and Switch. Advertising 3 piece with biscuit outside for $3.99. (offer does not state valid on any one day). Walked in to order the deal and was told its only avail on Thursdays. I have ordered the same deal in Mississauga on different days during the week. Will be calling their Headoffice to complain about it.
