Very Bad experience ! As Indian, went there with my 3 family members to get taste of Indian food. Excited 🙂 & Ordered Dal/Roti/Curry/Rice Food. They served only 4 plates, 3 spoon… I have to ask them 1 more glass & 1 more spoon for 4th family member. Serving food like they are not trained for it.. No salt/Pepper/Tissue paper & other things on the table..Not a hygienic.. Plates/Glasses look like not cleaned/hot well. We ordered deserts and spoons were thrown by waiter on the table without cleaning the table. Hidden charges just mentioned as server charges in their menu card in small fonts size. This is actually a 10% of total charges and they are saying it’s tip. Enforcement. Awesome to know how Indians are making fool to Indian..:). Washrooms are disgusting and mirror is full of dents/dust. Don’t go there specially if you are Indian.. Very bad experience first time in Canada.
we went for vacation to spend niagara fallsas family, three adults and one kid. we were looking out for indian style restaurant in niagara falls and finally we found this restaurant in victoria avenue. We went into restaurant by 2 pm, so it wasnt crowded. We got settled in our table and they provided high chair for the kid.The staff was kind and got our orders. We have ordered tomato soup, veg tikki, roti, chicken biriyani and butter chicken curry. First they served hot tomato soup an chicken starter. Soup was hot and delicious. Chicken starter was equally good. veg tikki was decent. chicken biriyani wasnt hyderabadi dum biriyani, but its of different dum biriyani. Biriyani taste was good. Then we ended our lunch with was roti and butter chicken curry. roti was soft , chicken curry was delicious. we had good time in this restaurant. While the kid was eating it food was sprinkled the food around the high chair, But the staff was kind and clean the food was put down by the kidFood -4/5Quality – 3.5/5Ambience -4/5Service – 4/5Overall we had fine dining experience in this place.
We took the decision to come here despite several below par and ordinary reviews and realised immediately on arrival that they may not have been far from truth. There were only two families as it was nearing end of dinner time and after a sultry reception we were still not sure if they were open, so after confirming they were open we felt like a seat facing the street with a good view of the well lit street through large window glasses. On asking the middle aged lady manager or maybe proprietor (as she had displayed her photos with celebrities)she with a little pompous and patronising manner suggested that as they were cleaning we may like to sit somewhere else. A spin-off thought that came was that it is the little things that make a complete experience and this restaurant is yet to evolve and not deserving the discerning. This little episode literally flipped our appetizer switch. So we decided to try an alternate restaurant and were lucky to find Shere-e-Punjab where the evening was salvaged.
4 of us visited Guru for dinner this Tuesday. The place was relatively free at the time we entered. The staff were friendly and helped settle us down.We had a toddler and a senior person on wheelchair. The staff made sure we had all help to make us all comfortable. We ordered a range of vegetarian dishes-biriyani,Indian breads, paneer curry,Dhal, kofta, paneer and aloo starters,Rabdi ice-cream.The service was a bit on the slower side. But I think that’s is due to the fact that most items were prepared fresh since we were early. All the dishes tasted great.Especially the kofta curry and Aloo and Paneer starter. The rabdi falooda wasn’t as expected and the quantity seemed less for the price tag.The ambiance was good and it was nice to have a quiet environment with less crowd. The waiters were attentive and helpful. Overall a nice experience.
I visited there last week and loved the food! Every dish is to crave for! My favorites DAL Makhani & Paneer Butter Masala with Garlic Naan 🙂 Definitely coming back again! The service was exceptional and the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful!! Don’t miss it guys!
Terrible. Dirty. Bad attitude. Small portions. Little meat. High prices. No parking. Go down the street to Sheri Punjab. Much better. Is this 100 characters yet?
Guru is one of the best indian cuisine restaurant in Niagara falls. I was here with my friends and we ordered bhel, chat papdi , paneer kurchan, lamb biryani, dal makhani, butter chicken and mango shake which we enjoyed a lot and were amazed to see that such indian flavors are available in Canada too , so if you are at Niagara then guru is the must place restaurant to visit
