Breathtaking view of the falls, with the same ambience and quality the keg usually delivers, will definitely be back. Awesome steaks. Service was on the slower end, but they made up for it with great Taste and an incredible view
FOOD:We had come here on a Saturday evening at around 5:30 pm (we had made a reservation beforehand). Since we were a party of seven, we were given a large table on the right-hand side of the restaurant facing the Falls. In terms of my meal, I had settled on the 8 oz. Sirloin Steak ($38.00), which included two sides (I had chosen Caesar Salad and the Garlic Mashed Potatoes). We were first given complimentary bread and butter, which was absolutely amazing, as the bread had just come out of the oven and was piping hot. I loved how soft and chewy the bread was, it was delicious and quite easy to chew. My Caesar Salad came shortly after I had finished the bread and butter as a part of my meal. I was disappointed though as there wasnt enough dressing, and it tasted dry. Also, there was no bacon bits in the salad whatsoever, which surprised me as I thought Caesar Salad always had bacon in it. The cheese slices and croutons were delicious though, which made me happy to have.Once I had finished my Caesar Salad, my main meal had arrived. I was given an 8 oz. Piece of Sirloin Steak, along with the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, a few green beans, a few pieces of red pepper (with one that looked like it was shaped like a heart), and some mushrooms. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were delicious, with just the perfect amount of flavouring and a good amount of potatoes included. The vegetables were a nice addition however, there were not enough of them, and they finished quickly as the portion size was just too small. The steak however, was dry, and definitely not what I had wanted. I had asked if I could have some steak sauce, which made it taste better however, the steak sauce was spicy. Overall, I didnt find the meal as appetizing as I would have hoped, and found that the price was just much too high for what I had received.ATMOSPHERE:This restaurant had a beautiful view of Niagara Falls however, it was just much too busy, and loud as a result. Also, the area in which we were in was freezing cold, even though we werent anywhere near an open door or window. It also seemed to be very cramped where we were sitting, with guests and servers walking-by very quickly all-of-the-time. I was always worried that I would accidentally bump into someone as I moved my chair. It definitely wasnt a very comfortable place to be on a Saturday evening.SERVICE:We were first served by a kind younger gentleman who made us feel comfortable. However, as we were about to place our orders, he was replaced by a middle-aged woman, who explained all of the specials of the evening to us, and answered all of our questions regarding our meal choices. She was very friendly, and made us feel welcome throughout our entire meal. She even came to ask us how we were enjoying our meal a few times throughout the evening. I was impressed with how well the service was at this location!COST:1 8 oz. Sirloin Steak Meal (With Caesar Salad & Garlic Mashed Potatoes): $38.00 + Tax = $42.94 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?Although the service and view were great, it wasnt worth the money that I had paid for something that left me unsatisfied afterwards.
I came here because I had a $40 voucher that came with a groupon I purchased a while back. To make the most of this experience, make the reservation as early as possible (for me, it was 1 month in advance) and ask for a window seat because only a few tables have access to the view, while most other tables are farther back. We also arrived at 5pm, so the restaurant was fairly empty and we were able to take pictures of the view without blocking waiters and other patrons. We started off with a French Onion Soup ($10.50) and a Lobster Gratinee ($14) because there is a Lobster Summer menu available until August 31. The soup was good and had a very thick covering of cheese on top and was quite filling. The Lobster Gratinee was also extremely filling due to the abundance of herb oils and cheese used. It was prepared like an escargot dish, with 7 individual pieces of lobster beneath the cheese. The Pistachio Salmon ($34.50) was my favourite dish out of everything I tried because of the maple glaze and crumbled pistachio nuts on top. This glaze was extremely light and delicious, especially when it was absorbed by the bed of mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts..I also tried the Teriyaki Sirloin ($37) from the Keg Classics menu, which came with a full sized Caesar Salad, which is quite substantial for one person to finish but ideal for sharing. There was no need for extra spices since the steak was well-marinaded.Another large dish that the five of us shared was the 8 Oz Sirloin Oscar, which came topped with prawns and scallops. It also came with a small jug of buttery sauce, which I didn’t enjoy as much on the steak, but was better with the seafood. The twice baked potato as accompaniment is recommended as it was much more flavorful than the other potato sides.
