The view is the only positive thing about this stuffy restaurant. My fiance and I were celebrating our anniversary and came here for dinner. We had some drinks at the bar before we were seated, and we were having a wonderful time. The server started us off with a bottle of wine and we continued to drink and laugh, while enjoying the view. Little did we know that the customers beside us had complained to management about our behavior (we are European…we love wine and we are not quiet people). So our server decided to serve us yet ANOTHER bottle of wine. The restaurant manager then proceeded to HIDE behind our table and listen to our conversation. (we were told this by the hotel manager the following morning). Once the restaurant manager heard us say something she didn’t approve of, (again, Europeans and wine…we are hearty people!) she came to our table, in the middle of our meal, and told us to leave. We were laughing and chatting with the tables around us. We were never given a warning to settle down, and they kept serving us alcohol. Then they tell us to leave? We are customers just like the people beside us who complained. We were treated unfairly and we will never be returning. If you love stuffy, boring, stuck up places…then this restaurant is for you. What an absolutely absurd experience. We have dined at many finer establishments than this one, acted the exact same way, and have never had a problem before.
Amazing TENDERloin. Lovely Pipe Down wine by Organized Crime. An amazing goat cheese brle, grape, sprouts and leaf salad. Everything local, in season and perfect. Very accommodating staff. Even the free bread was a lovely walnut, Apple they baked. A fine view. Wow!
Lovely View!. Hands down this restaurant is beautiful! It is a bit strange it’s right next to a buffet, but once you’re seated it’s not an issue – you don’t see anything. The food was really good. I had the scallops which were cooked beautifully and on top of polenta. I’ve never had polenta before and I didn’t really like the texture or taste, so I think this might be a personal preference – my husband didn’t like it either. I think they did an good job, just was not for our personal palette. My husband ordered the beef, and WOW was it different. I had to steal some as it was amazing, it tasted like slow stewed beef and melted in your mouth. I would have preferred it a bit stronger on the seasoning side, but it was still delicious. The view is beautiful, and so is the restaurant. The staff is friendly, quick and very pleasant. It is a pricey meal, but I would say it’s worth it to try once as the food is good, and you can’t beat that view!
My husband and I had a nice dinner here last night. The view and ambiance were pleasant. Simple yet modern decor. Drink list was extensive and they had a pretty good selection of craft beer. House bread was ok. We ordered selection entree of the day – seared pickerel in a cream sauce and potato pure. Excellently prepared but maybe too heavy on the sauce and lacking in vegetables – one broccoli floret and a few prices if zucchini and carrots. The other entree we ordered was the beef tenderloin on top of a potato and oxtail ragout and topped with caramel used onions. Also tasty and prepared very well. The entree prices ranged from $32-42. We shared a dessert – the gluten free chocolate cake with vanilla semif fredo – to die for! Expensive but reasonable for the calibre of food. The service was fine. I wouldn’t rave about the service but staff were attentive and polite. My only complaint was the A/C was cranked and we were freezing throughout the meal. Although we forgot about the cold once the fireworks went off and we could enjoy them with the excellent view from our window side table. Would recommend if you are ok with a $140 meal with tip for a gourmet meal.
Fantastic view; better yet, their farm to table approach is special for those who love perfectly prepared fresh and delicious entrees! Their summer menu was excellent! Bravo! Coq au vin was the best ever!
Not impressed. Our family was visiting Niagara and was referred to Windows by Jamie Kennedy as we were staying in the Sheraton. The place is beautiful, service was great however the food was bland, not alot of choices, and the prices were sky high, $80.00 and kids ate free…. not worth it at all. and will never return.
