The best Japanese food in St. Catharines, bar none. The restaurant is cute (although quite tiny, book ahead!) and all the food is well-presented and, of course, delicious. The food is flavourful and fresh, and clearly made with care. The sushi is not as precisely presented as some other places, but who cares when it tastes this good? I can also vouch for their soup and rice bowls as being delightful, and their Tako Yaki is to die for.There are a lot of Japanese food options in St. Catharines, and although many are decent, this is the first I’ve found that is unmissable. Please, do yourself a big favour and go to Amakara.
Love this place! Come on a regular with my boyfriend. Staff is super nice, prices are reasonable and of course the food is great! Very small and at times hard to get a table if it’s busy but at the same time it’s a pro it’s small because it makes for a cute atmosphere!
