Good restaurant with excellent food in a very relaxed atmosphere. Probably not your first choice for a romantic meal for two but if you are looking for an inauspicious spot with some good food at a good price point you won’t be disappointed.
Loved the Montreal Ruben Sandwich. Beautiful space and good service. Was satisfied overall. Recommend trying it if visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Good service, mediocre food. Not the most exciting menu but they did have a gluten free pizza.
Old town was packed over the weekend and this was one of few places that still had room and decent ratings on this site. Coming in the restaurant it feels dark and old, huge contrast from the lively and flowery street outside. Foodwise its not too bad. We started out with the soups (flavorful but super salty) and some mussels which were ok. Pizza was pretty decent and pasta were made with fresh pasta but the sause lacked a bit of punch.
It’s really too bad that this place was as disappointing as it turned out to be. I’ll keep it simple, everything was fine except the food. I ordered the most simple pasta on the menu, bolognese and they managed to mess it up that bad. My colleagues ordered more complex pastas and mussels dishes than I did and they had decent meals. My bolognese was cold when it arrived, the type of cold that you could tell had been poured into a bowl and left sitting out while other plates were being made. It was so not fresh and warm that the cheese on top hadn’t melted, it just sat there lumpy and sad. It simply tasted like canned pasta. Unsettling and unappetizing.
Service was friendly and lots of room for a big group. Great wine selection. I had the tiger shrimp pasta with Italian sausages. I also had the opportunity to try the Bolognese sauce (try something else if you’re leaning toward this)! Portions are fairly large as well. Stopped in for a late lunch. Pizza, burger and smoked meat sandwich. Everything was perfect. Son says it was easily the best burger he has ever had. The chocolate cake was amazing.Really worth it.
