I just visited Cafe Amore with a large (8, including adults, children and a baby) group of people for a late Sunday lunch, without making reservations. The food was fresh and authentic. Our group had calamari & antipasto to start, then Caesar salad, pastas, soup & pizza. Everyone expressed their delight with the food, and most of us brought some food home, as the portions were ample. I regretted not having room for dessert. The service was personable and prompt. The decor was updated and tasteful.
Keep working on the pizzas. My favorite restaurant and first choice is definitely Cafe Amore but I have been disappointed twice with the pizza. I understand the pizza should be crisp but not burnt to the point of nothing else being tasted. The chef came to our table to explain that is the way it is. I being of the new world, googled Mediterranean pizza and found at least 40 pictures of pizza none of which showed the side crust burnt as well as the top. The new oven needs to be practiced again and again till it is perfected. Just needing to vent but will be back, but not for pizza. The other three entrees were delicious and up to the regular standards. The ice bucket leaked all over our table and the waitress was tardy but friendly. It was a very busy night but two of our guests had their first experience there. I also have been to the Mediterranean and did not have that experience.
I have been dining at this restaurant for over three years and love the overall experience here! The atmosphere is quaint, the prices are awesome, and the quality of the food is great! If ever we have a problem, as this can happen in any restaurant from time to time, a manager or cook is out to our table directly to apologize and the situation is corrected. The wait staff are always upbeat and optimistic which makes dining here fun. Go for the specials on the weekends for a wow factor meal if you are looking for something extra special, otherwise the basic chicken, fish or past dishes are all tasty.
Really Disappointed. This is the first restaurant review that I have written, but I can’t stop thinking about how disappointed I was in my experience at Cafe Amore. I was looking forward to a nice meal and not having to cook midweek, so my boyfriend and I decided to try Cafe Amore. We arrived just before 8 on a Tuesday evening. There were a number of tables when we arrived that appeared to be finishing up. We waited at the hostess stand for quite some time before we were seated at a table with oil spots all over it (probably from not being wiped thoroughly). We placed our order for two entrees and opted for caesar salad. The salad came out quickly, but it was a tiny portion on a huge plate. We waited approximately 35-40 minutes for our entrees from the time we ordered, which would be expected on a Friday or Saturday night, but seems ridiculous for a Tuesday when we were one of maybe 2-3 tables at that stage of dining. When dinner arrived it was nothing special, but I’ll admit I would have needed to be wowed to save my experience there. I won’t be back.
Down Hill. We used to be regulars here but not so much any more. They used to have great Caesars and a great experience, but now not so much any more.
Love it!. My favorite restaurant ever! Great food great service and nice atmosphere. Thursday night date night is a fantastic deal! Amazing desserts to choose from too. Five stars!
Awesome food at a great price!. My wife and I love this place. Casual dining with awesome food. I love the veal parmesean. Never been to a restaurant as many times as we have been to cafe amore!Not a bad item on the menu, everything is delicious!
