My family was here for brunch on Christmas Eve day. Atmosphee- cosy and comfortable. Meticulously decorated and fire keeping place warmFood- a Breakfast buffet – excellent. Bacon cooked perfectly. Eggs good (not like usual rubbery ones) french toast wss scrumptious. Omlette and waffle station. Good but not enough choices for toppings. The dessert choices were ok. I did enjoy the lemon blueberry bread was fantastic. Service- Waitress was lovely and attentiveImpression- The price was right. Under $20 each. We might be back.next year. We all loved it.
The tenderloin was cooked to perfection but…. The Cannery Experience was to be the pinnacle of a Birthday get away in Niagara On The Lake. My smart wife got the 60 dollar meal deal as part of the Vintage Hotel package. We both ordered the sampler plate appetizer and the double smoked bacon wrapped tenderloin as a main with lobster mashed potato.Sampler plate was tasty and nicely presented. The lobster mash potato was a few micro bits of lobster with some generic mashed potato.A hint of lobster flavour if you bit one and only because you knew it was supposed to be lobster. The tenderloin (mine and my wonderful wife who set up all sorts of hotel birthday surprises) was like butter to cut, and very tasty, but the double smoked bacon was soggy and flavourless.I asked my wife if she tasted the smokiness, and she said she did in one little crispy bit. Should have sent it back I suppose, but I was baffled as they say… I had a chocolate tart for dessert which was delicious. Service is outstanding. I’d try the place again for the same prix fixe but not retail. And next time I’ll send the meat back.
Was there for lunch and was very happy — stark sandwich and soup and a touch of coffee at the end — well priced and really tasty.
Delicious but pricey. Chef gave us free amuse bouche of wild mushrooms and it was delicious. I had the beef tenderloin steak and stilton and it was cooked perfectly and was wonderful. Wife had the lobster tail and risotto and it was also great. A very nice dinning experience but a little pricey. If you are staying at the Pillar and Post and don’t want to drive anywhere then eat here and walk back to your room.
