Dinner on June 12, 2014. Our party of three thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the ambiance. The food was among the best that we have experienced from reasonably widespread travels in Canada and abroad. The wait staff were polite and respectful, and our main server was particularly capable, with just the right sense of humour. The portions were sufficiently large and well presented, and the food combinations were excellent.
Without a doubt, the best dining experience we’ve ever had! We had the chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairings. Spectacular, from start to finish. Not inexpensive, but well worth it!
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Charles Inn about 3 months ago. We dined at the restaurant and the food was amazing. But as I was about halfway through my dinner I noticed a huge piece of glass in my drink…. If I had sipped from the glass I would have cut my face. When I brought it to the attention of the waiter he quickly ripped the glass out of my hand and disappeared to the back for over 5 minutes. He came back and blamed it on one of the other staff and never even got an apology. Will not return.
Best food in town. This place has it all. Its got quite possibly the best food in town, quiet location, beautiful patio and great service. Its well priced too. Our server was Tanya and she was just great. We had some icewine martinis, we both had a salad, my fiance had a burger and I had the salmon. We would have loved to have dessert but we were soooo full. You MUST eat there!
Very well prepared food. Compliments to the chef. I had the gnocchi app and duck main, amazing. My wife had artichoke soup and salmon main. Said it was one of the best soups she has had in a while. The service was great and very knowledgable about the menu.
Probably the best food we’ve had in a while. The steak was done to perfection. The scallops were just delightful. The service was outstanding. It left very else to be desired. Just perfect. The inn itself is also a unique place to stay. We also had the breakfast, which was amazing. Totally worth the money. We really enjoyed our stay here.
