We loved everything about the place the food was great and there was a band and they were awesome I would come back anytime
Excellent food. Gord’s Place is a gem. The burgers are delicious. They have amazing specials during the week and a good kids menu. It’s a great place to go with kids in the downtown. My three and five year old love it.
Great find in St. Catharines. This place is great, I’ve gone there several times this year and they are consistent with their great food and service. I highly recommend their Sweet Home Alabama burger and their Fish and Chips. They also have some sweet weekly deals for drinks and appetizers. The place is also clean and spacious. But they need to get more people in there to really rev up the atmosphere.
Gord’s Needs Work. A number of friends, about 15 in total were meeting at Gord’s on a Sunday night for an occasion. It was men only, but I had my two children with me. As we are all generally family men, no one minded. The place was relatively empty, with maybe another 8 to 12 people besides our group. We ordered the nachos to start, and while they were good, they weren’t something Gord’s will become known for. We also ordered the chicken wings, a bacon cheeseburger and sliders from the kids menu. The wings are dusted, without the option of no flour. They were good wings, but not necessarily great. Again, not something they will become famous for. The wings are $12 and come with fries. The fries were good. My issues come from the burger. My son’s bacon cheese burger was burnt. He kept complaining that it was burnt, but each time I looked at the underside, there were only grill marks. Finally upon further inspection, I could see that whomever cooked the burger, hid the charred black meat under a piece of cheese. I brought it to the bar, and the bartender didn’t see a problem, but took it off the bill and ordered another kids slider dinner. Though the first two sliders weren’t burnt, the next two were. My son and daughter, ate some chicken wings and fries, and left the burgers. Would I go back to eat at Gord’s? The answer simply is no. For a pint, and to watch a sporting event, maybe, but they aren’t at the top of my list.
We attempted to have dinner at Gord’s last Friday evening, the place was almost empty. We waited almost 10 minutes for a server to come give us menus and order drinks. The asked the people at the table near us if there was table service; they said they has to almost beg to get served. We won’t bother to go back when there are many other more inspiring dining choices downtown.
