We used to eat here every Friday night for about 4 years then last year service and food took a huge downward spiral Service was terrible as all the good staff left and food was sub par. Tried it again few weeks ago nothing has improved
Best Place Ever. I have been coming here for awhile and every day there is a new home made soup. They are always fantastic no matter what it is. This is also one of the rare places to still get home made style meals. I know they make their own meatballs, lasagna, sauces, home cut fries, milkshakes and most other things on the menu. Plus everything is quite reasonably priced. I always enjoy coming here. It’s best to avoid the prime times so you can have more privacy but it’s still great anytime. I need to mention their home baked pies too. They have a large assortment and they are all so good, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I think the wait staff there are terrific. As I mentioned before, during the peak hours, they get busy and the place is pretty big, so you may have to wait a bit but that’s prime time for ya. They usually always do a great job of serving and providing a smile. I’ve seen a couple of guy servers there now too so I think that is a good thing as well. I never hesitate to invite friends to join me to eat there. We are always very happy with the generous portions and reasonable prices. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
Worst experience EVER!!!!!. My wife and I wanted to go to a nice cozy place close to home. So we decided to go the Heritage Family Restaurant. Biggest Mistake ever. My wife ordered the 16 oz prime rib. Asked for it rare Also asked the guy server ( who was rude right from the time we sat down) if there was anything on the steak and he said no. Once our food arrived, Her steak was well-done, She then nicely explained to the guy that it was over cooked then he said because it was marinated that was the reason it was not bloody, Never once did she say she wanted it to be bloody. Basically he told her she was wrong said he could have the chef explain that she was wrong as well then the woman ( Supervisor?) also told her she was wrong then walked away. They would not make her another one and the steak was so salty she could not eat it. Only when she pushed it away to the side of the table did he take it away and say that it would not be on our bill. But never once did he ask if she wanted anything different or apologize. Then he refused to come back to the table, We had to call on him for the check. Worst service we have had anywhere.
– always had a good experiance going to the heritage restaurant an thiier surf an turf was a great deal that needs to come back .
Love the home fries and especially the chicken parmesan… always good service.. interesting decor. The new boothes a pretty nice too
Worst Service EVER- repeatedly. We really wanted to like this spot, we have kids and we were looking for a family friendly spot that is not a chain restaurant. We have honestly tried this place more than once because you know how sometimes it just may be a fluke that it was bad, but every single time we have been there the service has been unbelieveably bad, when we asked someone else who had also been there, said that they had the same experience there is a guy waiter in there that is just slow and obviously has no training in service, and no manners apparently, and obviously doesnt have kids because being ignored while you sit in a different booth picking your teeth (ewwww) while we havent even been brought our drinks while we wait, and then when the food does come, the attitude is just rude like you are in a truck stop, we did speak to the owner a while ago and she didnt see that anything was wrong, mind you she also walked away while we were at the till paying my bill!!!!!!!!! I had to rip the receipt off the terminal myself!!! But you get it, the service is really bad, now the food?? in one word…. OK. Actually if the service was better I would return even though the food is so so, the kids liked the spagetti, my husband liked the steak, but we will not be returning simply because of the service. I hope the owners decide to sell so someone who knows what they are doing will buy this place because it does have potential.
Friendly Service, Good Portions. Our family visits this restaurant at least once a month. Val-pak coupons come all the time, but don’t stress over them – this restaurant has specials on the board everyday, and usually you can get everything for the same price without the coupon. The food is not great, but not inedible either. We have had everything from both their club sandwiches, chicken parm, mac & cheese, spag & meatball, veal and fish. The fish wasn’t so great, but my husband orders an extra meatball (cooked extra) every visit. The servers seem to know most of the clientele and are quite friendly, without being rude. The atmosphere is cool for someone interested in antiques or local history, but quite dark.Prices are reasonable – in fact, we began visiting this restaurant as an alternative to our Swiss Chalet night. Chicken with fries and a roll compared to chicken, veg, potato, roll, soup & drink for the same price at heritage.Heritage is a good value. Servings are large and tasty and affordable.
