This used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant around, but they changed their menu a while ago and the fantastic choices of food are just gone now. They have very limited choices (mainly beef ramen soup), especially if you’re vegetarian. It’s frustrating and sad that they changed an awesome menu and made it into a below average one. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re in the mood for beef ramen soup.22 Feb, 2014It’s definitely the best Chinese restaurant in the city (and I tried many). The environment is so warm, the owners are very friendly, and the food is delicious! I feel lucky to have this place close to my apartment.
THE Chinese food!. Prior to coming to Hibachi Cafe for the first time my perception of Chinese food was obviously crooked by usual Chinese restaurant that basically only offer three flavours: spicy, sweet and corn starch. At Hibachi I experienced very interesting new flavours and I was delighted to explore authentic Chinese cuisine. The menu is great, lots to choose from and the friendly staff has always patiently explained to me what is what, if I asked. Everything I’ve tried so far was delicious a interesting. The atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. This is my new favorite place to eat in town.
Uneven. I was happy to see a new Asian restaurant open in the North end. The place is clean and friendly, and the menu extensive. I initially ordered the hot and sour soup which is very good, with generous amounts of tofu, sprouts and other ingredients, the broth also tasty – would have like chicken, but otherwise not bad at all. I tried other dishes, and nothing really stood out. Rather bland. Haven’t tried the sushi – but will someday. The last time I ordered soup to go, it had obviously been heated in a burned container. The taste of burnt food ruined the otherwise very good soup. I haven’t gone back since, but wish them all the best.
Very good food! General Toas was awesome. Pork lo mein was delicious. Definitely will return!
Hidden Gem. This place is truly a hidden gem for the city. The wait staff were so friendly, and the food was simply amazing. Can’t wait to go back
A step up from the average strip mall restaurant. The decor is quite nice, the food is excellent and good value and the staff – who I believe are the owners – are friendly. I’m working my way through there extensive menu and have not been disappointed.
Not Perfect But Great. Did takeout from here. General Tso’s chicken, chicken fried rice, egg roll and miso soup The Miso soup was a little weak but still pretty good. The eggroll was good. nothing amazing but tasted good. But the Genereal Tso’s and chicken fried rice was amazing. Seriously amazing. Best I think I have ever had. The service was a little chaotic but only took 10-15. I recommend this place for sure.
