Always busy when I go there. The pancakes are to die for but the rest of the food wasn’t that great. If you go there just get the pancakes they are amazing.
We have been to this iHop in the past with absolute no complaints but this last visit will be just that – our last.Service was horrible & food was even worse.Service: It took us 5 minutes to be seated in a 1/2 full restaurant and twice that time to be greeted by our server. Refills had to be requested and she only came to our table 3 times: to say hi and take our order, to deliver our food and then to bring us the bill. Food: was awful and had we not been so hungry, we would have complained. Hollondaise sauce was a caramel color and had chunks of dried sauce which had been scraped off the side of the pot. Scrambled eggs were undercooked and sausage was so overcooked, it was difficult to eat. Waitress dropped food off but did not come back to see how we were making out. Had no ketchup and had to ask another waiter to get the ketchup and drink refills all the while the food was getting cold. Sad to see a restaurant which was always packed for breakfast go to half capacity and clearly struggle under I suspect new management or ownership.
Our party of four stopped here for breakfast and we were quite disappointed. There was only one server in the entire restaurant to greet, seat, and serve. She was great, but it made for slow inattentive service. The food was sub-par. The eggs and toast were cold, the eggs not quite made as we ordered them, the sausages were really hard and dense and overcooked. Not sure what kind of sausages they were, because they tasted really odd. The only reason I gave this two stars rather than one is because the pancakes were great. We had three types of pancakes at the table: regular, whole wheat with nuts and blueberries, and raspberry white chocolate. We were all happy with our pancakes – great flavour. Overall, a real disappointment. I grew up going to IHOP in BC and always loved it, but I’ll hesitate to go back now. Hopefully this was a one-off rather than the new norm.
