I, as well as others, had a good experience at the previous (Lake St) location, but we had our annual Christmas outing Dec 16th 2017 and were really disappointed. The venue is beautiful, food tasted good, but the service and value for money NOT so good. Not very attentive, no offers to refill coffee, and worst of all, those of us who order the ravioli were really annoyed with the serving size — 5 only flat raviolis, easily consumed in 10 bites — looked pitiful on the big plates — hardly covered the bottom of the plate, colourless, and this was oneof the sprecials over $20 and didn’t even include salad — more suited as an appetizer. Never again for me.

Disappointed!. We have been to the previous location and enjoyed everything about it. We had looked forward to the new location and finally got to try it tonight (Good Friday). Beautiful design with large glass doors between rooms to make it seem open but also allows for private functions I suppose. The patio looks promising for when the good weather arrives. Special Good Friday menu available as well as the regular. Four of us at the table, one guest asked for two apps to arrive together as a main so as not to hold the other mains up .. salad came first then second order next. First serving to one guest was the complete wrong order, taken away for another table. Correct order arrived for the same diner… centre frozen ravioli. Sent that back as the rest of us ate and finally received the correct, edible order for the guest. Staff apologized, offered a comp. after we had already ordered coffee and stated that no one cared for dessert. Manager seemed to think that because the second try was edible, everything was fine! We won’t be giving La Scala another try for awhile. Hopefully they will work out the bugs and serve fresh, cooked food! Friendly servers, nice atmosphere, questionable priorities!!
New place – still great. They were open for 8 days and I went there 4 of them. Would have gone again this week, but they were packed on March 21 and 22. Guess I must think they are great. The new place is much bigger. The prices look the same and there is still Joe and Stephanie plus a new bunch to make your evening wonderful. Only draw back is I might have to make a reservation some times.
Excited the new location opens next week. Joe the owner takes care of his patrons and serves wonderfully delicious entrees. A must for foodies.
New location!. La Scala will be moving locations at the end of May, come visit the restaurant before we move to our new location at 9 Queen Street, just around the corner!
