I really want to like this place but… Each time something puts me off. When I ask questions about the drink/food menu, on multiple occasions the staff acts like they don’t know the menu or like it’s a chore to answer simple questions – like clarifying what the featured holiday drink is – you should know this! I like the featured art on the walls. Once I met friends for coffee and we were the only ones chatting and with a silent cafe and no background music, we felt awkward. My chai latte that day was good enough to give the place another chance.
Great Place. I am a Brock student and I enjoy a good cup of coffee every once in a while, i’m not apart of the ‘hipster’ scene, but I still feel welcome here (sometimes). I only come when the girl with the tattoos is not working as the barista- if your not hispter enough she will make you feel unwelcome and awkward and she is just plain mean!Other then that, great place to check out and defiantly my favourite coffee pace in St. Catahrines.
Good, but not filling.
Shocking small portions. Thought I’d try out someplace new on St.Paul street. The interior of this place was really impressive, but that was the only high point. Got one of their flatbread pizzas, wasn’t expecting for $9 to leave with a 6 inch pizza, no larger than a pillsbury frozen pizza (the kind where you get 4 in a box for five dollars!). This pizza was no larger, and tasted no different than that frozen pizza either. Incredibly disapointed after finishing my meal (err, $9 snack?) in less than 10 bites. Should have been priced at $4. It’s a shame their pricing for food is so disproportionate because it had the potential to be a very good spot.
Quiet cafe, excellent coffee. Free wifi!Well worth a visit. Not much seating though for the size of the place.
Small portions. High prices. Not too filling. Great atmosphere. Great location. Just really need to step up certain areas: portion size vs cost, morning staff needs to have a sense of urgency – especially the middle aged woman who works there.
Yummmmm plus!!!!!. Mahtay’s got what I’ve been looking for….relaxed friendly atmosphere, scrumptious food (try the chicken apple club sandwich, pear and gorganzola or oinker pizza), cozy comfy couches and great local artisan works. It’s a great place to meet. I’ve taken friends there on several occasions who have been so impressed they’ve become regulars! Love the weekend entertainment….Magic/Burlesque Show was outstanding! Great community feel! Thanks Mahtay! See you soon!
