Went here tonight after doing the one hour escape room in downtown St Catherines. ( btw- I fully recommend everyone to try with a group..fun, fun, fun)Atmosphere- Not in the trendier downtown area. The downtown looks like it has a lot of nice options for my future trips to the hour escape room. Looks like it is in a little sketchy area ( It might be a lovely area but being from out of town that is they way this place look to me in the dark. Inside is really authentic looking. The in the floor tables in part of this restaurant looked neat to sit there. We had a nice table in the back and there was a line up at the front which made this place very promising when we entered.Food- This is where it went downhill. Appetizers included-1) chicken satay- very tiny pieces of thin slice chicken ( very dry) with a sauce that was marginal. I have had much better, 2) spring rolls- reports ranged from just Meh to good. 3) Tom something soup- quite good 4) coconut soup- needed more spice. She had had better many times. 5) mango salad- quite good. Mains included-1) pineapple chicken curry- sauce was tasty and spiced right, chicken on dry side. 2) cashew nut chicken- good flavour but too many cashews. 3) Kings rice platter ( or something like that) looked fantastic but reportedly had no flavour at all. 4) duck salad- just OK nothing special. 5) pad Thai- The worst 2 of my friends had ever had. One friend left most of the dish and wouldn’t take home leftovers.Service- When our larger group asked for separate bills for most f the table she did not look close to being happy about it. Sorry. When friends were asked how the meal was and some (3 pad thai people) all said it was not good not one of them was asked why they felt that way. Maybe the chef forgot the spices. We were served in a timely fashion so that was one plus. At the end none of unsatisfied diners were offered anything in compensation.( something as small as a dessert should have been given ) When that didn’t happen no one wanted t stay for tea or coffee. Too bad because this group plans to do the hour escape in a different room and they will not be returning to this place and that is for sure.

Great deal, great service & great food! $7.99 at lunch gets you pad thai, peanut dip with chips, soup or salad, and a spring roll… And it was so tasty! Two can dine for less than $20! I couldn’t believe the taste for the value. Such a gem!
