It is a very good Keg. Never been disappointed here. You come to the The Keg, to eat at the Keg. The service and quality is always consistent and very good. Their appetizers and salads are up to par. Their steaks are outstanding. The seafood is good for a steakhouse, because this is a steakhouse. Their prices have gone up slowly over the years but haven’t everyone else’s? The atmosphere is always pleasant, compared to their Niagara Falls location, which has a great view but a disaster on any weekend with loud and obnoxious patrons. Won’t make that mistake again. The St Catharines Keg is always on our short list for a good and satisfying meal.
Consistently Good Food and Service with a Great Building. The Keg in St. Catharines would arguably be one of the nicest Keg Restaurants in the country. The patio, the main dining room, the lounge and the upstairs private room are all housed in an old 1800s cotton mill with much of the original architecture having been restored. Much like other Keg restaurants, the steaks are consistent in their quality and how they are prepared. Their attention to quality control is very good and my wife and I have never been disappointed. The Keg in St. Catharines for us is something we know we can always rely on.
Steak House. It’s pricey we all know that…my girlfriend and I thought everything was top notch…..Delicious…avoid the wine and dessert and the bill is waaay smaller if you can…
Very bad-food was sent back and still came back not the way it was ordered. Food was cold. Steak was cold & under done after being returned. Asked for med. rare steak. Came back both times medium, pink throughout. Extremely disappointed & turned off the Keg forever.
Disappointed. My friend and I went to The Keg recently for a girls’ night out. The service was extremely slow and my favourite dish had been taken off the menu. No big deal, really. These things happen. But I ended up with a twice-baked potato when I ordered the mash, and we didn’t get any of that famous, super-delicious sourdough bread that most servers (but apparently not all) bring you before your meal. I was bummed. I expected more from The Keg. :(I think they were just too busy to keep up, and I suspect that our waitress may have been relatively new.
My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s day. Im so glad we did! Firstly, we had an earlier reservation, so we got their before the crowd. It was nice and peaceful. Our server Joe, handled the evening smoothly and was very attentive to us. We even had Joe take a a photo of us! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, our table in the dinning room was second level! The Keg is known for the steak and that’s what we both had. my sirloin oscar was delicious! Especially when my boyfriend upgraded my entree with getting me a loaded potato. It had the works, sour cream, bacon, cheese, green onions. I really enjoyed my perfectly grilled steak topped with scallops, shrimp, and bearnaise sauce. We enjoyed it!
