Dont Waste Your Money. Went too valley inn to treat ourselves to a nice dinner with our friends . Well i will never go again and our friends either.. You can get better Italian food in CUBA. Started off with the bruchetta bread and garlic bread 8$ each and the bruchetta bread was a sliced piece of italian bread with tomato paste plopped on top of it, the garlic bread is slices of mozz. cheese on top worth maybe 2 dollars to make and i dont mind paying if its good but should be distgusted charging 8$ for that. Then the main course came and my friend had the Italian platter the veal was overcooked and hard. then the lasanga was a little piece and they were famous for their lasgana at the bottom of his piece it was hard as rock the noodle at the bottom had too be their since xmas overcooked and old. .. He didnt send it back cause he said they will spit in it our something so he ate what he could and saved that hard piece and showed the waitress. I seen her show the owner and he took his fork and was was wondering what this hard piece was too. But never came over and said anything too us or they never said sorry or anything. Just came with our bill .. I went out early and our waitress came by i asked her what the outcome of that piece of hard thing was and told her we will never return. I was outside and the cook came out too our table and had no explaination, Im sorry I didnt expect to get anything from them but they will never get anything from 4 people that enjoyed a nice night out at a restaurant that has been a favorite for over 30 years. They lost our buisness and will never waste our money. Its not what it used too be . I dont mind paying if the food is good but they have gone down. Their are a lot better italian restaurants for quality and price in st. catharines and better service . Valley inn should get another cook or they will loose people that have enjoyed the restaurant for years.
Poor experience trumps many good ones . . .. Have eaten here several times. Generally good although you apparently have to be over 50 to be visible to the servers. My wife and I sat at a table in a room with a total 9 tables (not all with diners) for 11 minutes before we asked a server for service. A staff meeting followed to decide why we hadn’t been served. Four minutes later a server arrived asking if we knew what we wanted. Our reply: Menus! No apology given, they appeared to just pretend it never happened.
Incredible food, and warm, relaxing environment! Truly a hidden gem! Can’t wait to go back!
Valley Inn…a place to relax and enjoy. A nice atmosphere, good selection of wine and food and a nice place to spend an evening with friends. Can’t wait to go back with my son and his wife to enjoy a laid back evening.
Best sausage anywhere! Fabulous atmosphere- great wine selection- I will be sure to return soon
If you like frozen mussels as an appetizer, canned sauce and pasta from a box as your entree then eat at The Valley. Or better yet, stay at home do the cooking yourself and save your cash. The owners themselves fessed up when I questioned them after dinner. I shall not be returning.
Love the atmosshere; great food-authentic Italian cuisine
