Have been back several times since my original review. Have to say I am impressed! They have a new cook in the kitchen and a smaller, seasonal menu with a little something for everyone. Standouts are the Bourbon Street Shrimp, served piping hot with bread for dipping; the charcuterie board (great for two or more to share – they don’t skimp on the cheese and meat); and the wings, which are smoked and served strait up with salt and pepper seasoning. Staff is a friendly bunch of folks, even if the bar gets a bit overwhelmed at times. Live music all the time and have been pleasantly surprised more than once. Patio open out back for the summer, and last weekend they were serving oysters!! I’d say this unassuming little place has hit its groove Thursday’s there’s a special on appetizers that will keep us busy tasting the menu this summer, no doubt. $65 for two with drinks and tip. Fall 2016 New owners have done a nice job of redecorating the place, but were wise to keep the most popular items on the menu to help us patrons with the transition . We were out on a Sunday for the live jam and a meal. Music was done sadly when we got there at 530, shame on me for not checking the times! We were told steak was the special of the night, 14oz rib eye. Mouths watering we waited. The starter salads were out quick, nice and fresh, just the right portion size. The steaks took about 40 mins from the time we ordered, and arrived beautifully plated with mashed potatoes and roast veg. I’m a medium kinda girl, and my steak was rare. Now had I started with the spinalis end were the biggest muscles are, I would have noticed right away… but the yummy looking char on the tail end caught my eye and I started there, so by the time I worked up to the main event, I was too embarrassed to send back half a steak…. nonetheless it was delicious. Having had ribeyes at a lot of places, felt this one was priced 5$ too high, but hey it may be local grass fed, and I missed that part. To be honest we kinda thought the whole menu was priced high, but the new owners are probably still assessing price points so hopefully they read reviews . Desert was lemon creme brle, which tasted like lemon pudding from a box with a thin layer of caramelized sugar so we could call it brle. Important to note that their spicy Caesar is on point. We will be back. 120$ for two entrees, dessert, and one bevy each, tip included.

Food was great but service was disappointing. We arrived for our reservation to be seated right away and brought water. We were then left for about 20 minutes before our order was taken. Once our order was taken it was almost 40 minutes before our appetizers arrived (we ordered nachos and the brisket sliders). Then it was another 20 minutes for our burgers. We were not checked up at all and our waters were left empty for at least a half an hour until someone came to drop off food then I had to mention to refill water, then they were not filled up again, nor did our server come over to check on us.After being finished our meal for 20 minutes, we got up and had to ask for our cheque, and we were given a bill for 347$, when we only ordered 4 burgers, nachos and brisket sliders. The server changed receipts but even then there was an extra order of chips on our bill which we didn’t order. The food was amazing. The gluten free buns would have been better toasted but the quality of food was great. The burger tasted amazing and the garlic aioli and the grainy mustard paired really well on the burger. Would I return? Yes and no. Food was great (and I am picking being gluten free). It could have been a one off night for servers- they may have been understaffed. I did only see 3 girls for all the tables.04 Oct, 2014Food was great, but service was disappointing

Great food, great music venue. Great evening at the Branch – juicy burger, yummy spicy sausage (from Seed to Sausage) platter – great sides (tossed salad, mashed potatoes with delicious gravy, snappy coleslaw, super flavourful refried beans). Only negative – the sausage was a bit dry. Sticky toffee cake for dessert – yum! and front row seats for Ridley Bent – heaven! We’ll definitely be back. locomocodef.blogspot.com

Went for the Sunday buffet and the food was delicious!. The vegan entree of enchiladas were amazing! Food was well spiced and creative. The tofu on the enchildas had a great texture that I have never had before. The broccoli-leek soup was a delicious home-style soup with a smoky flavour.Found out that the Chef there previously worked at Millenium – a high end vegan restaurant in San Francisco that is out of this world. Not surprised given that the quality of food at the Branch is definitely there. Nice to see a quality restaurant serving up comfort food with both meat and vegan options near Ottawa.

Very good Brisket, and I am not a huge pulled pork guy. Rustic feel and solid service. I will be back.

Worth the drive from ottawa. Came out for date night and was very impressed. Rustic and cozy like an old farmhouse and fabulous food. Had the fajitas which were dominated by a delicious smokey flavour with black beans, avocado, fried onions and peppers. Table beside us had incredible looking burgers which we will have to come back and try!
