The worst dish ever!!! Fish katsu size was one chicken nugget. Hamburger steak was frozen burger patty and So smelly. Japanese hamburger steak usually has to seasoned with onions, garlic and panko bread crumbs but it just was frozen patties. I disappointed with this and Price is $17.99. I dont want to give even 1 star rating.
The only thing I love about this place is the shallow hot stone bowls that they use, so that you can get a really good rice crust from your dolsot bi bim bap but spreading the rice thinly. However, the seasonings aren’t great, the service is terrible, and I’m pretty sure I got food poisoning from this place. I won’t be going back. cookingwithalison.com
I’m not sure why there are poor reviews of this restaurant, but I had an enjoyable time here for lunch. I ordered the Monday daily special, which was the donkatsu meal (comes with rice and salad). The portions were reasonable including the Korean side dishes. Customer service was good (even saw one of the waiters running across the street in the cold just to give leftovers back). Even though it is not the traditional donkatsu that I usually eat at Japanese restaurants, the batter was good and the value was not bad given the size of the meal. Would definitely consider trying out this place again.
I enjoyed the food here, better than I expected actually but it wasn’t amazing. We ordered onion rings and they brought us 4 onion rings…that annoyed me a bit but other than that the food was good, as well as the service and environment. I’m notSure if I’d go back again.
I tried Crazy Don mostly because it was beside Kinton Ramen and I didn’t feel like eating atShawarma Max. I will say that the interior was clean, spacious and welcoming. Unlike Kinton which can get overwhelmingly loud, the atmosphere inside Crazy Don was quiet and enjoyable. The food was good but not something that I’d describe as addictively tasty. I will say that if you’re hungry for a western spin on Korean dishes, this place won’t disappoint. If you’re looking for something authentic and cheap, then this place isn’t for you. One thing that you can say is that they can cook up some good food porn. All of their dishes look yummy, I think the presentation is better than the actual food itself.
Finally went to Crazy Don today Ive been wanting to go they specialize in Korean Donkatsu, hamburg steak, pan fried rice and udon. These are the kind of food that reminds me of life in Seoul you can find these dishes in any fast food joints. Its very popular among the younger generation. We tried the Japanese style Donkatsu and Cheese kimchi fried rice. I loved the soft, and airy batter on the donkatsu it was very tasty. The cheese kimchi fried was mediocre you have to really love cheese to enjoy this dish there is A LOT of it its like half rice half cheese. It was also too oily and bland for my palette. Overall it was very fun dining experience I loved the clean woody decor. Id like to come back to try the hamburg steak, bibimbap and udon.
