The food is cooked well and portioned well. Prices are fair. Warning: anything under $20 and they don't take credit. Also, don't bother with the bell;…

2017/03/03More Yonge Street, more Korean restaurants. This time it was Kayagum for lunch. It is a medium sized restaurant with mostly 4-top, booth-style tables, each with its own built in table top BBQ burner. I stayed on the portion of their menu that was dedicated to lunch specials, and chose Chicken Katsu ($9.95). While I waited for my meal, I enjoyed sampling the various Korean side dishes, as well as a pleasant bowl of Miso. There were four side dishes: Of course there was kimchi, as well as scoop of potato salad, a dark green salad (kale or seaweed?) and some noodles that had a spicy sauce. Then my main course arrived. The breaded chicken was smothered by the katsu sauce. This was the first time I had katsu where the base was yogurt (I think) instead of a plum sauce. The sauce was not overly sweet, which is a good thing. The one minor problem was the way they sliced the chicken cutlet into pieces that were a bit to large and heavy for my chopsticks skills. Service was mostly good, up until I finished my meal. Then no one came by with my bill. After a while I went up to the front to get attention and pay. Otherwise, a good meal.
This place is terrible with terrible service. My wife ordered a seafood pancake which came with undercooked seafood. When we asked to return the dish they would not refund or let us choose something else. We waited for 20 minutes after we got our main course to get water. It is also expensive for the quality of the food. This is not the first time I’ve had Korean cuisine. Beef Bulgogi prepared without fried onions?? I’ve had cheaper and much better quality Korean food in the past. If you’re looking for good honest rustic korean cuisine, do yourself a favour and steer clear of this restaurant please.
The sanitation here is horrible…the table wasn’t wiped properly (I could see splatters of sauces here and there). Also, I was given a jug(?) of water but look at how gross the lid is…I’m just wondering how long these have been not washed for something to grow on (especially since these jugs are kept in cold temperatures)The kimchi stew was also super salty- i used to like this place but definitely wont be going back anymore
Went here with a friend. I was not sure about their quality as they are a 24 hour restaurant, so I was pleasantly surprised when their food was up to par. They let you sit there as long as you want ,so it’s a great place to hang out with friends. They also refilled the complementary appetizers. Will come again.
Always coming back to the La Kalbi every time I have a craving during the night. They’re timely and do their best to come to you even though it can be busy at times. But they are helpful and the menu is great to fill your craving for sushi, Korean or Chinese food. I recommend this place compared to other 24h spots. The food comes quick and they give little appetizers beforehand while you wait.
Overpriced and awful service! The food is mediocre at best. The waitress chucked my dish onto the table and refused to return or exchange a horrible tasting gganpoongki dish. There are plenty of other cheaper better tasting restaurants along yonge and finch. Don’t be fooled by the new interior.
I used to like this place a lot despite its high prices, but the quality of service is absolutely HORRIBLE. I went with my friends for dinner the other night and it took them 25 minutes to bring us our food after we ordered, we had to call them multiple times to get our bill, the waiter spilled water on my lap and didnt do anything, they didnt give us any biofeel after our meal but they gave it to everyone else! We obviously didn’t tip, so while we wear enjoying a post-meal cigarette outside of the restaurant, the waiter runs outside to ask us for tip! Seriously?! You’re better off at McDonalds man
