BEWARE!!! The servers were so demanding to ask for more tip. After we paid our bill with a tip that they deserve, without second thoughts, they insisted on having us to give more. So we added a few more bucks but WOW, they were not satisfied and asked for more. What a horrible restaurant with low etiquette waiters and waitresses.
2017/01/24Because the front window of Pyung Won House is a bit cluttered, it is difficult to tell if the inside is also cluttered or tidy. Happy to say it was tidy, and more spacious than I imagined. I was there for lunch, and I did not notice anyone using the table top BBQ’s. Instead everyone seemed to order from their relatively long list of specials. Shortly after I was seated with a menu, the server brought a mug of hot tea. I chose the Chicken Katsu (breaded cutlet) for $10.99. A small salad was brought out fairly quickly, and just as I finished that, the main course was brought to the table. The plate was fairly large, with a large portion of sliced cutlet, coleslaw, rice, and some fruit slices. In addition, there were six small side dishes, including kimchi, two kinds of pickled cucumbers, seaweed, and more. It was more of a feast than a lunch special. Everything tasted very good, but there was one significant problem: I had ordered chicken, but they served a park cutlet instead. I did not raise it as an issue, due to time constraints, and it tasted good. They still charged me for chicken, which was $1 more than the pork, but I let it go, again due to the shortness of time. Even then, it was still a good value, given the meal size.
Good spot for some late night Korean soup. I had the spicy shredded beef and enjoyed it. It wasn’t too spicy though. Quick service and convenient hours (24/7) come in handy too. instagram.com
Came here for dinner with a friend. We both had the pork bone soup. The banchan came when our meals were ready.I really enjoyed the pork bone soup here. It came piping hot. I’m not sure what spices they used but it was very flavorful and not too salty. There were these little things like a crunchy seed that added a crunch to every bite. The meat was tender. I pretty much finished the soup. Usually I would only have a bit of the soup along with the meat but this time, I found myself drinking the soup on it’s own. If I come back, I’ll probably have the pork bone soup again.
