I have never written a bad review before and never planned to but this place changed my mind. The service was unprofessional and immature. My friends and I received the wrong food and drinks at very awkward, long times. My tea had half a lemon with the sticker still on it.The ATM kept on declining my cards (I checked, they were full) so I had to search for a different machine outside. A cash only establishment should have a working ATM.Since there were 7 of us, we asked to split the bill and pay separately. Nope, apparently they don’t do that (even though we took the time to write out who ordered what despite not having to do that). After we gave the money and asked for change, a worker comes back and informs us that we didn’t tip. Yes, we know. (Some of us work/have worked service jobs so we understand how important tips are. If we don’t do that, there is a reason for it.) This worker leaves and another one then comes and informs us that they don’t have enough for exact change despite us counting and recounting to make sure. We end up having to count out the change ourselves and just as we expected, everything was correct. The exact change was literally in the cash we gave, they didn’t even have to open their till for it.This place was a mess. We basically had to do the services that they neglected by ourselves. Please go to a different Sugar Marmalade. The only reason I didn’t give the lowest possible review is because the food was decent (minus the stickered lemon). We were all very disappointed.

Great, affordable place to go with friends for hang out. Their drinks are ok but their desserts are amazing! What I appreciate most is that they don’t try to kick you out or pressure you to leave like some other places. We stayed there, having ordered three items, for five hours on a busy night. I would definitely come back
Got the golden royal drink & popcorn chicken on rice, only been here once, staff were nice. Food was freshly cooked, drinks were freshly made. All in all I had a great time. They only accept cash so I had to use the ATM i side their restaurant.
There are quite a few dessert options to choose from. I had the house special mango sago. It came quickly and was quite good. It was filled with fruit and sago and Not overly sweet. There are some desserts that take up to 30 min to prepare so be sure to ask ahead of time if you are ordering with a group. My friends ordered ahead of us so we didnt have to wait tpo long for their desserts after ours came.
It’s nice to have a Chinese dessert place in the area, especially with so many in the Markham/Scarborough towns. Sugar Marmalade attempts to imitate the likes of many of these dessert shops littered across town with Chinese desserts. Here, you’ll find various custards, soups, fruits, smoothies, and even snacks. My girlfriend pulled me in here after Korean dinner at Owl of Minerva (right next door). She ordered the Mango Heart Pudding and I had the House Special Sago. The Mango pudding was very good as it was exactly as it sounds. Mango pudding in the shape of a heart, except it had nice chunks of mango atop the pudding with more mango sauce drizzled over it. It’s essentially mango overload. The House Special Sago was decent. It was fresh watermelon and mango chunks cut up into a watermelon and mango juice base. The juice was definitely freshly blended, but not as sweet as I hoped. The mango chunks were good, but the watermelon wasn’t sweet at all as they probably used the bottom remaining parts that clung close to the shell. Either way, the juice base was good and oddly enough, you can discern between the mango and watermelon and it was good. The desserts here are a bit nicer and the place itself is rather nice. I liked the cleanliness and the modern feel for the place and it seems like a good place to sit down and write reviews too. Service was OK. You really need to get their attention as they really seem to want to leave you alone unless you take the initiative. Once you do though, they’re pretty quick and nice. Take advantage of the free parking out back and the free wifi as well. cheatdayeveryday.com
Durian mochi and mango sweet soupThe durian isn’t strong enough. It’s an ok sweet fix. I didn’t have time to eat everything.
