Working in Koreatown, sushi places are a dime a dozen. Sushi Moto, Nome Ikazaya, Sushi One, My Sushi, the both now-closed Spring Rolls and Sakura, just to name a few. With Sushi One being the closest, this usually is the place of choice for my AYCE sushi fix. It’s worth noting that Sushi One recently brought back AYCE, but it’s restricted to dinner hours only (4:30 – 10 pm).Walking in you’ll notice the modern decor, along with seasonal accents and a clean dining area. Staff are fairly friendly and the washrooms are in the basement. One thing I love about this place is the plating. Ordering a bunch of rolls almost guarantees it will be plated with an intricate garnish, usually consisting of flowers or slitted vines. Rolls are tasty, the korean kalbi ribs are fantastic, and the the shrimp tempura is surprisingly light yet crispy. Over the course of coming regularly, I have had zero issues regarding with food here. Overall a great place to eat yourself dead, leaving little to be sought after.
Its a small store but offers great sushi. The restaurant is usually packed with people specially on the weekends. They have both sit in or take out option.
The lunch menu for all you can eat is quite large. It’s 17.99 on Monday to Thursday. The food is served quickly. The employees see also nice and friendly. The quality of the food is what you would expect for ayce. The lunch specials here are a good price. I would recommend getting that instead of ayce.
This place is my go to take out sushi place. It is right around the corner from my place, and it’s usually pretty busy. I do eat in from time to time, but for the most part I do take out.If you’re going for lunch try to be there before 12pm because it fills up fast, and for dinner anything after 6pm and you’re pretty much going to have to wait for a table, and there isn’t much space to wait (hence why I usually do take out). The restaurant itself is pretty small, but they manage to fit in quite a few tables. That being said, you don’t really feel like you are sitting on top of each other. The tables along the wall with the benches have partitions so it’s a bit more private. It has a cozy/some-what romantic feel to it (more so at night when the lights are dimmer). It also has a cute patio on the front for the summer. The staff are relatively friendly, helpful, and attentive. The sushi chefs seem like a lot of fun. Occasionally when I walk in (usually when it’s not too busy) they will yell something, I have no idea what they say, but I’m going to assume they are welcoming me into the restaurant. Anytime I’ve dined in the service was pretty quick. For take out, my average wait time for two rolls is anywhere from 10 min – 20 min, when it’s really busy. I also tend to pick up my order, it’s quicker, and for me it’s right outside, and it gives me a chance to grab some snacks/drinks.I’ve eaten quite a few different items off the menu and I’ve also done the AYCE. I tend not to do AYCE, cause I suck at eating a lot at once, and my eyes are always bigger than my stomach and I end up rolling out of those places way too close to the edge. My usual order consists of a miso soup, spicy salmon roll and a dynamite roll. The miso soup is always pipping hot, with small chunks of tofu, diced scallions, and some seaweed, which all make for a tasty soup. The spicy salmon roll definitely has a bit of a kick to it, but I don’t find it over overbearingly spicy. The dynamite roll has nicely fried tempura shrimp, which adds a nice bit of crunch to the roll. The rolls themselves are done beautifully, nice and secure, they don’t fall apart when you pick them up (nothing worse than picking up a piece and having the innards fall to the plate). I’ve also had the bentos boxes, some special rolls, seaweed salad, tempura apps, chicken katsu, gyoza, the list goes one, and honestly I’ve been happy with anything I’ve ordered. I wouldn’t go as often as I do if it really wasn’t good. vanislekate.wordpress.com
Amazing and Fresh. Very pleased with our order ! We ordered a variety of rolls for delivery and we’re very happy with the quality and freshness.
Would stay away. If you’re allergic to MSG, please take note. I ordered their sashimi lunch today and felt very sick within 30 min. My face and body was flushed red, my head was hurting and my heart was pounding. This was quite alarming as I’ve never experienced it before…Doctor said I had those symptoms due to high consummation of MSG. So I hope sushi one will take note of that and put less in their food. Thank you.
My favorite. I love sushi. this place is the best in the neighborhood. great choices for ayce. they have increased prices but its still worth it. love the green, red and black dragons. definitely try the golden crunchy roll (deep fried)- unhealthy goodness ๐ sushi pizza has a little too much rice for my liking- but i still order it every now and again. I must say that the service is okay- nothing special.
