There is great atmosphere at the Yonge & Sheppard location which is why I suggested it for a small reunion with some friends. We went in the mid-afternoon and ordered lots of finger food like the deep fried pickles, onion rings… I got the calamari (hold the fried jalapeos) which was still spicy thanks to the chili powder but not as crisp as I would have liked. A friend got the giant hamburger (OMG!) and we ordered the Salted Caramel Lava and arm Apple Crumble for dessert. All the food was pretty good and we stayed for quite a few hours without being hounded out of there. Overall a good pub experience. suziethefoodie.com
Been here several times over the past few years and the food is consistently good and a nice selection of pub fare. Lots of cozy booths and sitting areas, as well as a deck for those sunny days.
I was trying to go to another restaurant not knowing it did not open till 5 but walk by this place & was starving so decided to give it a try. It is a british pub so your option are pub food plus british curries. I was not feelingany curries that day so I got an app of chicken wings & pot roast au jus. The wings where pretty basic got the 40 creek bbq sauce tasted pretty similar to other sauces I have had before. The roast beef was alright as well a little dry but the jus to dip in was very taste made the sandwich.
We came here just to meet up for a drink before heading elsewhere for dinner plans. Since their renovation a few years ago, this place has looked very trendy and cozy to spend a night out with friends. They have a bar and dining area downstairs with screen showing the local sports teams. Upstairs there is a pool table area with another bar and darts room. The rear of both stories contain a patio for the warmer months. We sat downstairs and the hostess was gracious in letting us sit where ever we wanted without being pressured to order something. They had $5 Steamwhistle pints as their special. We ordered a pitcher of Barking Squirrel while we waited for our friend. It was on the sweet side as our hostess described it for a lager. Very tasty. They have the typical pub fair on their menu. I would rate them as on par with the the other pubs in Toronto.
Its a cozy bar with lots of seats downstairs and upstairs. It has even a patio. Great location and a nice place to hang out during the week for people live in the yonge-sheppard area.
Frog and Forkin. I look for a neighbourhood pub. I found itbat the Frog with the clients. Food and taps are good. More male ataff needed as the girls have attitude including manager with her sway of health and food regulatiomd. I suggest sofa area on lower area be reconsidered. The specials are great.
Good pub. Regilar pub. food is good but pricey and greece. bit good pub putdoor patio on the second floor. usually pretty live. so if you are up for that kind of setting- not a bad place to go on the area. pool tables only 3, dart board.
