Very oily food and seems like very unhealthy too. I’d to use 10 tissues to dry up my Korean pan cake and still oil was all over! The place is like a mess for students. Had to go to this place as it was 1am and this was the only 24hr open outlet on yonge.

This 24 hour open restaurant is my go-to for late night Korean food cravings. It is affordable, always fresh and most importantly tasty. They became very popular for their sizzling Pork Bone soup but later on for many other dishes they offer. They are like McDonalds, very consistent it always tastes exactly the same. I also recommend their Korean sausages which is probably one of the best in Toronto, its made from sticky rice, glass noodles, veggies and pork blood. Other than that almost every single dish they offer are all really great.

Their pork bone is great but their service is so bad. Taste does not always win here. I have come here sober at late night hours and I’m certain they serve their bad cuts of pork thinking everyone is drunk and can’t tell the difference. Very deceptive.

Owl of Minerva is the Korean chain found around Toronto. This little restaurant on Yonge Street is so popular that they even opened their own meat shop right next door. It’s a 24 hour restaurant that seems to have patrons at all hours of the day.I got their famous Pork Bone and Potato soup. This was actually the first one I’ve ever ordered for myself and have only sampled it sparingly at other places. As a dish on its own, there is a lot more meat than I thought. You’re given about 4 bones of which to rip off meat that is very tender. The broth is very good but not at all spicy. The potato chunks make the broth thicker which I enjoyed near the end with my rice. The GF ordered their special for today, which was Kal Guk Su (Handmade noodles in chicken broth). She essentially ordered the Korean version of Chicken Noodle Soup. The handmade noodles were excellent. They had a rich flavor and doughy texture that soaked in the broth fairly well (kind of like udon but nowhere near as fat or thick). The broth was just OK though and if there was to be any meat, it sure didn’t come in this one…I believe there is free parking in the back, but not entirely sure. There is street parking right out front that is free after 10pm on weekdays. Owl of Minerva was good but being right in the heart of North Koreatown, there is always someplace slightly better… cheatdayeveryday.com

Always love going to Owl of Minerva for good Korean food. Ordered the Kimichi Fried Rice and it came out relatively quickly. Service was good and the food was pretty good. It’s always a great place for getting relatively cheap Korean food in a nice place.

I ordered the Pork Bone Soup ($8.99). The soup was steaming hot, full of flavour, and served up with a ton of pork! The meal came with rice and the customary sides such as kimchi, sprouts, etc. Definitely worth a visit.

Never again!. I had a spicy grilled chicken meal. Problem was, the meal was almost all onions and green peppers with very little actual chicken. I estimate 4 small pieces of chicken.I’ve been the Owl of Minerva in the downtown Koreatown and it’s fine. But up here, they skimp on the meat and screw you.Never again.
